FC Barcelona extend Sebang partnership for three years

Spanish sports organisation FC Barcelona and Korean car battery company Sebang Global have announced the renewal of their regional partnership that originally started in October 2019.

The deal, which now runs through the end of the 2024-25 season, makes Sebang the official car battery of the Catalan club in South Korea, Vietnam and Malaysia. Sebang activated the partnership using the Sebang brand in Vietnam and the Rocket brand in South Korea and Malaysia.

Due to Barça’s business growth in other significant southeast Asian markets over the previous three seasons, Sebang has added Thailand as a new market under the extended partnership.

Regarding the Sebang partnership, an official statement from the club in October 2019 stated:

“As part of the agreement, the company will be able to use the FC Barcelona crest and images of its players in the three countries. Within the partnership, rights include the use of images and video associated with the Club [Barça] on Sebang products or for advertising purposes, alongside rights to virtual LED minutes and other promotional, merchandising and hospitality rights.

Furthermore, the Sebang logo will be featured in the partners section of the FC Barcelona website and further rights to create co-branded content and a microsite with the Club [Barça].”

After the renewal of the deal was confirmed, FC Barcelona posted the following statement on their website:

“Starting from the 2022/23 season, SEBANG will start hosting Barça Academy camps and company events for the first time. Leading by Barça Academy Technical Director, the addition of Barça Academy collaboration will provide fans in these territories first-hand experience with Barça football philosophy and methodology, and further strengthen the partnership through greater brand visibility on FC Barcelona channels as well as collaborating on co-branded content to better engage with more than 16 million Culers across Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia.”
