Ferrari expand Kaspersky partnership

The Formula One team have announced a new partnership with the cyber security and data protection company.

Italian Formula One team Scuderia Ferrari have announced their new partnership with cyber security and data protection company Kaspersky, which will see the latter become an Official Partner for the FDA (Ferrari Driver Academy) Esports team.

Kaspersky, which has been a long-time partner of the Scuderia since 2010, has now expanded its partnership with the F1 team, bridging into the esports industry.

Apart from providing data protection services to the Maranello-based team at their headquarters and race tracks globally, Kaspersky’s branding will also be visible on the drivers’ and team members’ helmets and clothing at all official Ferrari events. The FDA esports team sim drivers will also sport the branding on their jerseys and Ferrari cars in the various games platform.

Speaking about the partnership expansion, Ferrari Team Principal, Mattia Binotto, commented:

We are pleased to renew our partnership with Kaspersky and in fact to increase its scope. Our two companies have much in common, such as a policy of striving for technological excellence and a culture of teamwork.

For over a decade, Kaspersky has played a key role for Scuderia Ferrari, protecting our data both at the track and in Maranello and it is important that we can count on such a reliable partner when it comes to such a delicate aspect in the life of a team.

We are also happy that our collaboration has been extended into the world of esports, which is growing fast and is vital when it comes to promoting motorsport to a wider and younger audience.

Kaspersky CEO, Eugene Kaspersky, added:

I’m very happy we’re continuing our long-standing partnership with Scuderia Ferrari racing team, which over the years has developed far beyond being just sponsorship. Our cooperation has evolved into a technical partnership: we provide the team’s data protection, thus contributing to its safety and success – unnoticed in the background. I’m also excited that we’re expanding our partnership with Ferrari to extend to eGaming, one of the fastest-growing online industries today.

After finishing P3 in the Constructors’ Championship in the 2021 season, the Scuderia will be hoping to be back in the title fight when they rejoin the track on March 18, 2022, for the upcoming season.
