The nine-year partnership between the US shipping firm and the Formula One team ends.
Italian Formula One team Scuderia Ferrari have ended their partnership with US-based shipping firm United Parcel Service (UPS). The nine-year partnership between the two parties was confirmed to be over after the Scuderia updated their sponsors list for the upcoming season which did not include the shipping firm.
UPS, which first signed a deal with the Maranello-based team in 2013, served the F1 team as their Official Logistics and Shipping Partner. The two had renewed the deal in 2017.
Ahead of the 2022 season, Ferrari have updated their sponsorship portfolio. Most recently, they dropped Mission Winnow, the marketing campaign from tobacco company Philip Morris International, as their title sponsor. The Italian team also dropped Chinese diesel giant Weichai from their sponsorship list and added Swiss blockchain firm Velas Network, while re-signing with Spanish bank Santander.
Whether Philip Morris will continue on as a sponsor of the Italian team is yet to be confirmed, as both parties are still negotiating.
The Scuderia return to action in March when the 2022 season kicks off, and after a relatively strong season which saw them return to the front of the grid with a P3 finish in the Constructors’, Ferrari will hope to fight for wins and podiums once again in the upcoming season.
