Calm, an online platform offering sleep, meditation, and relaxation solutions, has been named the “Official Mindfulness and Meditation Product” of the FIFA World Cup 2022, the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 and the FIFAe Nations Cup 2023, as announced by FIFA.

Prior to the start of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in November, Calm and FIFA have teamed up to provide resources to assist mental health to the world’s football community.

Through its #ReachOut campaign, FIFA aims to increase awareness regarding the signs of mental health disorders, motivate people to get assistance when they need it, and inspire them to take daily steps towards better mental health.

Through this association, all athletes, coaches, and training personnel involved in the men’s and women’s World Cups will receive complimentary Calm subscriptions as part of the collaboration, along with FIFA employees and the tens of thousands of volunteers assisting in organising FIFA tournaments.

Prior to the FIFA World Cup 2022 and other FIFA events, fans will be able to take advantage of exclusive discounts that will help them save up to 50% on subscriptions.

Commenting on the association, Andrew Massey, FIFA’s Director of Medical, said:

“Mental and physical health are equal partners in the combined well-being of a person, and care for both must be seen as integral in caring  for the footballing family.

“As a sporting community, we need to create an environment that better supports mental well-being and mental health. The well-being of footballers at all levels of the game has always been and will always be the top priority of FIFA, as can be seen with this collaboration.

Fergal Walker, Calm’s VP Partnerships, also added:

“We’re proud to team up with FIFA, bringing mental wellness tools to the global football community.

“This is just the beginning of our work together, and we’re excited for what’s to come as we integrate mental health into football, for players, for staff and of course for the fans.
