Visa to become the Exclusive Payment Service of the 2023 Women’s World Cup.
FIFA has announced payment technology giant Visa as its first-ever global women’s football sponsor. Visa becomes the first-ever sponsor for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 and is also set to serve as the Exclusive Payment Service for the 32-team tournament, which is set to be held in Australia and New Zealand.
The deal will see Visa implement its payment technology at the tournament venues and will also create exclusive experiences for fans and clients through engagement activities while also sponsoring the Player of the Match award. Visa will also incorporate the Team Visa programme at the tournament, which is dedicated to providing female footballers with the necessary resources, support and tools needed to achieve their goals both on and off the field.

Earlier in 2018, Visa had also become the first-ever sponsor of the UEFA women’s competitions. Earlier in December 2021, FIFA had revealed its new sponsorship plans for the women’s game which would see the women’s game get exclusive sponsors that wouldn’t be linked with the men’s competitions.
