McLaren’s Formula One driver Daniel Ricciardo has announced that he will be working with Hulu to produce a new series based in the Formula One world.
It is reported that the Disney-based streaming service will develop a half-hour scripted show which will have the Australian Formula One driver attached within the capacity of an executive producer. Further details about the show haven’t been revealed yet. The show will be developed by a host of production houses including ABC Signature, Lionsgate Television and Temple Hill’s Marty Bowen, Wyck Godfrey, Phoebe Zimmer and Sydney Title.
The Hulu series joins the likes of Apple’s upcoming documentary series about the career of seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton and also Apple’s upcoming Formula One movie which also has Hamilton involved along with Brad Pitt, with the latter set to star. Additionally, Hollywood director Michael Mann is also working on an upcoming movie about the life of Enzo Ferrari, founder of the Italian team Ferrari. Aside from these projects, Netflix has already confirmed two more seasons for their hit docu-series Drive to Survive, with the show playing an integral part in helping the sport gain new audiences in the U.S market. The fourth season of Drive to Survive, which was launched in March 2022, was the show’s most-watched season.
