Indian women’s hockey team partners with Nicobar for ‘Off the Turf’ campaign

The Indian Women’s Hockey Team has partnered with Indian lifestyle brand Nicobar to launch the ‘Off the Turf’ campaign which showcases the players’ sporting identities to highlight their personalities, friendship and off-field lives. The campaign follows the players across one day and showcases their lives through training, competition and everything in between and how apparel plays a crucial part in it.

The campaign stars Indian players such as alima Tete, Shilpi Dabas, Navneet Kaur, Jyoti, Deepika Soreng, Neha, Bichu Devi Kharibam, Savita, Sakshi Rana, Ishika, Annu, Sunelita, Lalhantluangi, Ishika Chaudhary, Nikki Pradhan, Lalremsiami, Sonam, Sushila Chanu Pukhrambam and Rutuja Dadaso Pisal

Salima Tete, captain of the Indian women’s hockey team, said,

“As athletes, we’re used to expressing ourselves through our game, but this shoot gave us the chance to showcase a different side of who we are. Wearing Nicobar on the hockey pitch felt incredibly special. It was a beautiful blend of sport, style and confidence. I hope it inspires more people to see women athletes beyond the field and celebrate them for who they are, both on and off the pitch.”

Simran Lal, Co-founder and Creative Director, Nicobar, added,

“The squad brings together players from different parts of India, each with a different story, but the moment you spend time with them, they simply feel like a team. You see it in the way they look out for one another. There was a sense of belonging from the very beginning, making this collaboration feel like a perfect fit”
