Isack Hadjar to miss F1 Dutch Grand Prix 2026; Liam Lawson back at Red Bull for the race

Red Bull Racing have announced that Isack Hadjar will not be able to take part in this weekend’s Dutch Grand Prix. The French driver will sit out the race because of the wrist injury he suffered during the summer break.

In Hadjar’s absence, Red Bull are bringing in Liam Lawson from their sister team, Racing Bulls, for one race. Lawson started last season as Red Bull’s second driver, but was replaced by Yuki Tsunoda two races into the season. He has since then been with Racing Bulls and currently is enjoying a strong season with the Italian outfit, who are fifth in the Constructors’ standings.

With Lawson racing in Hadjar’s stead at Zandvoort, Racing Bulls will turn to Yuki Tsunoda, who is serving as the current Test and Reserve Driver for both Racing Bulls and Red Bull Racing, to race alongside Arvid Lindblad.

Red Bull released the following statement on the matter:

“Oracle Red Bull Racing driver Hadjar has sustained a wrist injury during summer shutdown that will prevent him from racing at the 2026 Dutch Grand Prix.

We will be welcoming back Lawson who will replace him in RB22 this weekend.

The Team wishes Isack a speedy recovery and thanks Liam for stepping in on short notice.”

Racing Bulls released the following statement:

Visa Cash App Racing Bulls confirm that Liam Lawson will drive for Oracle Red Bull Racing at the Dutch Grand Prix this weekend due to Isack Hadjar’s wrist injury.

We thank both Liam and Yuki for their adaptability as the teams prepare for the weekend, and we wish Isack a speedy recovery.
