Italian Football Federation (FIGC) extends partnership with Fonzies

The Italian Football Federation (Federazione Italiana Giuoco Calcio; FIGC), which administers Italian football, has signed a new sponsorship agreement renewal with Mondel?z International-owned snack company Fonzies.

Fonzies will be an official FIGC partner in this four-year renewal agreement.

Served with cheese and corn, Fonzies is a baked pretzel chips brand. In the 1980s, it was developed in Italy and initially produced by Ferrero before being distributed to other makers.

This partnership gives Fonzies the go-ahead to use FIGC branding on its packaging as well as players of the Italy men’s and women’s national football teams for digital and social media marketing purposes. Fonzies will start the renewal of its FIGC collaboration with a marketing campaign acknowledging the Italian national squad.

Francesco Uguccioni, Brand Manager of the Italian division of Mondel?z International, said:

“Fonzies is the snack of fun and enjoyment and what could be more fun than cheering on national teams during competitions, in the company of people you love? Everyone loves cheering on Italy, enjoying the show and enjoying our irresistible Fonzies alone or in company. We are proud to continue to accompany the Azzurri, the Azzurre and the Italian fans in the upcoming international football events.
