Melbourne Stars Sponsors 2021-22

Following are the companies and organisations that serve as sponsors and brand partners to Big Bash League franchise, the Melbourne Stars, and enjoy a strong branding presence across their physical and digital assets.

BBL Principal Partner

Aussie Broadband


The Morwell, Victoria-based Australian telecom carrier was announced as the Principal Partner of the Melbourne Stars in December 2020 ahead of BBL|10, granting the company branding rights—most prominently across the Stars’ playing and training uniform.

This partnership was later renewed in September 2021 and expanded to also cover the Stars’ women’s team ahead of the 2021 WBBL season, becoming their Premier Partner.

While the Aussie Broadband logo features on the front of the Stars’ men’s team’s playing and training uniform, it also features on the sleeves on their women’s team’s matchday shirts.

WBBL Principal Partner & BBL Major Partner

MG Motor

MG is a British automobile brand owned by Shanghai-headquartered Chinese state-owned automotive design and manufacturing company, SAIC Motor.

MG Motor signed a three-year deal with the Stars in December 2020, becoming the Official Vehicle Partner of the franchise, the Principal Partner of their WBBL squad, and the Major Partner of their BBL squad.

As part of the branding rights, MG’s logo features on the front the teams’ playing and training uniform. The players and coaches are also supplied with MG’s vehicles.

Premier Partners

ASSA ABLOY (Yale)


The Australian door opening solutions provider has been a partner of the Stars since the 2020 WBBL and BBL seasons.

The two parties last renewed their partnership in October 2021 in a two-year deal. The Yale logo features on the Stars’ platying headwear and pants. The partnership also entails co-branded fan engagement activities.

Genius Childcare


The Australian childcare services provider was announced as a Premier Partner of the Stars in December 2021 ahead of BBL|11. The deal sees Genius Childcare’s logo feature “on the sleeves of the [Stars’] BBL jersey, media polo and across the club’s activations and social channels”.

Platinum Partner

Ritchie Bros.

The Burnaby, Canada-headquartered asset management company of used heavy equipment first joined the Stars’ sponsorship portfolio in December 2020 as a Premier Partner. This partnership was later extended in August 2021 to cover the BBL and WBBL squads of the franchise, becoming a Platinum Partner.

The partnership sees the Ritchie Bros. logo appear on the sleeve of the club’s media polo and training apparel. It also appears “on the NT Strike League uniforms worn by Cricket Victoria’s Stars Academy players”.

Manhari Metals

The Tottenham, Victoria-headquartered Australian metal recycling company signed its first-ever BBL deal as it signed with the Stars as a Platinum Partner in October 2021. As part of branding rights, the Manhari Metals logo features “on player dugouts, on-field hydration stations and 12th and 13th player vests”.

WBBL Major Partner

Belling

The Melbourne, Victoria-headquartered Australian cooking appliances manufacturer has been the WBBL Major Partner of the Stars since October 2020. The two parties last renewed their partnership in October 2021.

As part of branding rights, the Belling logo features “on all Stars player and coaches apparel, media backdrops and LED signage” throughout a WBBL season.

Official Co-Coaches Partner

Dimplex Australia

The Melbourne, Victoria-based Australian heating and cooling systems brand serves as the Official Co-Coaches Partner to the Stars. The two parties last renewed their partnership in a two-season deal in August 2020.

The partnership entails co-branded fan-engagement activities, with the Dimplex branding featuring on the apparel of the Stars’ coaches throughout their BBL and WBBL seasons.

Official Beer & Cider Partner

Colonial Brewing Co.

The Melbourne, Victoria-based brewing company was announced as the Official Beer & Cider Partner of the Stars in August 2021. Apart from branding rights, the partnership also grants Colonial pourage rights at all Stars events, most prominently at the CitiPower Centre at Junction Oval.

Official Partners

Victorian Responsible Gambling Foundation

The Victorian Responsible Gambling Foundation is an organisation that aims to deal with the problem of gambling addiction within the Australia state of Victoria.

In December 2015, the Stars—along with the Melbourne Renegades—signed the organisation’s sporting clubs program, the Responsible Gambling Charter, according to which the team do not have any betting sponsors as they aim to contribute to the Foundation’s attempts at reducing the normalisation of betting sponsorships in sports and help the people in Victoria understand the negative effects of gambling.

Art Series Hotels

Art Series Hotels is a group of Australian hotels and residences whose ambiences are “inspired by and dedicated to contemporary Australian artists”. The group currently has centres in Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide.

The group serves as an Official Partner to the Melbourne Stars via its St Kilda Road, Melbourne-located The Blackman Hotel, which boasts the works of Australian painter Charles Blackman.

Community Partner

City of Casey

Located in the outer suburbs of Melbourne, the City of Casey is the largest municipality in the Australian state of Victoria. As a Community Partner of the Stars (since 2013), it works with the franchise “to jointly promote and showcase sporting opportunities and the benefits of an active lifestyle”.

Official Wine Partner

Turkey Flat Vineyards

The Tanunda, South Australia-based winery became the Official Wine Partner of Cricket Victoria in December 2020, a deal that also covered the Melbourne Stars.

As part of the deal, apart from branding rights, Turkey Flat’s wines are poured at all Stars events.

Official Equipment Supplier

Kookaburra

A long-time partner of Cricket Victoria, the Moorabbin, Melbourne-headquartered Australian sports equipment manufacturer is the official supplier of all cricketing equipment to the Stars, apart from being the official match ball supplier to the BBL.
