MS Dhoni to be the face of Jharkhand Tourism

Former Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been roped in as the Official Brand Ambassador of Jharkhand Tourism, following an announcement by the Jharkhand government. The deal will see Dhoni, who hails from Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, as the face of the state as it looks to promote themselves as the tourist destination for adventure, eco-, cultural, and sports tourism.

Reports state that Dhoni will take up the role free of cost and the deal is for a period of four years.

Manoj Kumar, State Tourism Department Secretary, Jharkhand Government, said,

“Jharkhand Tourism Development Corporation is examining the papers. MSD is doing it without charging any fee; only his conveyance costs will be borne by us when he comes for the shoot. We are awaiting the final approval of the minister concerned. Once we have that, our media agency will conceptualise the advertisement campaign and share it with Dhoni’s company for approval. The first advertisement film could be ready in three to four months, depending on his availability. It will be released as part of our tourism promotion drive.”
