English football club Norwich City have signed a new principal partnership agreement with Italian floodlight brand AEC Illuminazione. As part of the deal, the AEC logo will be present on the back of the Norwich City men’s senior team’s shirt throughout the 2022-23 season, including all replica shirts.
On top of the various marketing elements provided by the partnership, AEC will be installing new floodlight technology into the Carrow Road stadium infrastructure, which will be utilised from the start of the 2022/23 EFL Championship. The new product will offer the club elevated matchday experience and could be used to operate light shows during pre-match activities.
Commenting on the deal, Sam Jeffery, Commercial Director at Norwich City, said:
“This is a really exciting partnership announcement for Norwich City. AEC Illuminazione is an internationally recognised business which prides itself on delivering an outstanding product for its global customer base, whilst staying true to the community values on which it was founded.
“We offer our sincere thanks to Lorenzo Cini, the wider Cini family and all at AEC for their support. We can’t wait for the fans to see the new floodlights in operation at Carrow Road and look forward to AEC joining us on some amazing evenings throughout the season ahead.”
Greg Pillinger, Head of Operations and Projects at Norwich City, who led the installation, stated:
“Everyone at the club is extremely impressed with the level of operation provided by the professional team at AEC and their approach to innovation and sustainability, two of the core values the club holds dearly.“
Alessandro Cini, Managing Director at AEC, also added:
“We are proud to light up the Carrow Road stadium with our Italian floodlights. We are honoured to collaborate with Norwich City which share with us the same values: quality, safety, and sustainability. We look forward to giving a new extraordinary light experience to the fans and players.”
