Patanjali ropes in MS Dhoni as brand ambassador

Patanjali Foods confirmed via an official statement the on-boarding of Indian professional cricketer MS Dhoni as a brand ambassador for the marketing campaigns of its “Mahakosh” and “Sunrich” brands.

“MS Dhoni’s association complements the health-oriented nature of the company’s edible oil range…,” the statement said.

The Indian food company has also reported a two-fold jump in its net profit to ?254.53 crore in the second quarter of this fiscal year.

Patanjali’s total income declined to ?7,845.79 crore during the July–September period of this fiscal year from ?8,524.67 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year, while its total expenses fell to ?7,510.71 crore from ?8,371.03.

However, Sanjeev Asthana, CEO of Patanjali Foods, has stated that the company is performing well on the profitability metrics with both EBITDA and PAT, showcasing strong growth on a QoQ basis.

“Despite the challenging macro and opening environment, the first half of the fiscal year has ended on a positive note,” Asthana said.

“The company’s Food & FMCG segment is performing in line with the targets and saw further expansion of higher contribution in the overall financial performance. This improvement is in line with the tactical shift in our business operations.”
