Premier League 2025/26 Gameweek 4: Preview and Predictions

Premier League action returns this weekend after the first international break of the season, as we look forward to more feisty encounters, high-scoring fixtures, and last-minute dramas.

Here, we present our preview and predictions for Gameweek 4 of the 2025/26 Premier League season.

Arsenal vs Nottingham Forest

After the narrow defeat at Anfield last Gameweek, Arsenal have another difficult encounter at home. In the visiting camp, Nuno Espírito Santo has been sacked and replaced by ex-Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou, who will definitely want to have his say at the Emirates despite this being his very first game as Forest head coach.

The Gunners have been defensively solid this season, having not conceded a single goal from open play. They will be without William Saliba, who is out with injury, though new arrivals Cristhian Mosquera and Piero Hincapié ensure Arsenal remain stacked at the back. Bukayo Saka is also a doubt for the game.

At home, Arsenal score freely. Given Forest’s ongoing issues, this could be a comfortable win for the hosts, with their front line in decent form.

Score prediction: Arsenal 2–0 Nottingham Forest

Bournemouth vs Brighton & Hove Albion

The Cherries returned to form in Gameweek 3 with an away win against Spurs. Even though they only scored one goal, they dominated the encounter and were unlucky not to score more. Antoine Semenyo looked particularly dangerous. As for the Seagulls, they came back from 1–0 down against Manchester City last time out to take all three points.

Both sides here prefer attractive, attacking football, and both have defensive frailties. That said, Bournemouth have the home advantage and are usually a difficult team to beat at the Vitality.

Given the two teams’ attacking prowess, this could be an entertaining affair, with Bournemouth just about edging out Brighton.

Score prediction: Bournemouth 21 Brighton

Newcastle United vs Wolverhampton Wanderers

Both Newcastle and Wolves have had a poor start to the season. Both teams are without a win, though Wolves are in a much worse situation, sitting at the bottom with three losses out of three.

The Magpies have their fair share of injury issues, with Anthony Gordon also suspended. However, the addition of two new forwards in Nick Woltemade and Yoane Wissa has strengthened their front line; they look like a strong outfit despite the deadline-day departure of the talismanic Alexander Isak.

As for Wolves, they’ve lost two of their most important players from last season in Matheus Cunha and Rayan Aït-Nouri this summer. For this game, forward Jørgen Strand Larsen is also a doubt due to injury, leaving Wolves boss Vítor Pereira with many problems.

Considering their form, home advantage, and this week’s opponents, this could be the first win of the season for Newcastle.

Score prediction: Newcastle 20 Wolves

Everton vs Aston Villa

Everton have registered back-to-back wins in the league after their opening-day loss, while Aston Villa have looked subdued and toothless — far from their attacking best.

New loan signing Jack Grealish has made an instant impact on Merseyside, being the prime creator for the Toffees and helping them win their last two games. Everton are also proving a difficult side to beat at their new home, the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

On the other hand, with two losses and a draw, the Villans have been dismal so far. To further add to their woes, Boubacar Kamara and Amadou Onana are both out injured.

Based on current form and home advantage, Everton should be able to win this game and further build on their home form.

Score prediction: Everton 21 Aston Villa

Crystal Palace vs Sunderland

This is going to be an interesting encounter, as both teams have started the season well.

Palace have lost their most important attacker in Eberechi Eze, though they did manage to keep hold of defender and captain Marc Guéhi amid great pressure on deadline day. The Eagles won their previous game and looked dangerous on the counter. They are solid at the back and have great runners in Jean-Philippe Mateta and Ismaïla Sarr up front.

As for newly promoted Sunderland, the manner in which they bolstered their squad over the summer is paying dividends, as they’ve lost one game but won the other two, with Enzo Le Fée, Eliezer Mayenda, and Wilson Isidor looking particularly dangerous.

Selhurst Park is yet another difficult place to go, and the Black Cats may find the going difficult against Palace. This could be a close win for the home side.

Score prediction: Crystal Palace 21 Sunderland

Fulham vs Leeds United

The Cottagers have had a difficult start to the season, with many controversial refereeing decisions going against them and costing them crucial points. Leeds United, meanwhile, are also finding life difficult after returning to the top flight.

This could be the game where Fulham finally get their first league win of the season, as Leeds haven’t looked threatening away from home and have problems finishing chances. For the home side, Alex Iwobi, Raúl Jiménez, and Rodrigo Muniz need to come good.

In the end, Fulham should win this encounter comfortably. Home advantage will play its part, and we mustn’t forget that Fulham have been rather unlucky in previous games despite playing well; it’s about time fortune started favouring them.

Score prediction: Fulham 31 Leeds United

West Ham United vs Tottenham Hotspur

The Hammers started the season poorly but surprised everyone in the previous Gameweek with a shock away win at Nottingham Forest. That win would have given them a massive shot of confidence, and they’ll look to build some momentum going forward, with Lucas Paquetá and Jarrod Bowen looking promising.

Spurs, on the other hand, were outplayed by Bournemouth at home last time out and will want to get back to winning ways. However, they have several injury issues, with James Maddison, Dominic Solanke, Yves Bissouma, and Dejan Kulusevski out.

Still, this could be a comfortable win for Spurs, as the addition of Mohammed Kudus, Xavi Simons, and Randal Kolo Muani has provided great quality to their attacking line, which West Ham will find hard to contain.

Score prediction: West Ham 13 Spurs

Brentford vs Chelsea

Brentford have had a topsy-turvy start to the season. They played well in the last game against Sunderland but ended up losing. Losing their head coach and several key players over the summer hasn’t helped their cause.

To add to their troubles, this is going to be a really tough encounter, as Chelsea are a strong side with ample squad depth, especially in their front line. That said, the Blues do have some important players out injured in Cole Palmer, Levi Colwill, Roméo Lavia, and Liam Delap, all of whom are expected to miss out this weekend. Their backline could be a concern, though they did well in the last game against Fulham.

Ultimately, Chelsea should win this one. They may concede a goal or two due to their shaky defence, but they’re sufficiently free-scoring to be able to leave the Gtech Community Stadium with all three points.

Score prediction: Brentford 13 Chelsea

Burnley vs Liverpool

Newly promoted Burnley have one win out of three games, and that too came against fellow promoted side Sunderland. They lost their previous league match away against Man United in a five-goal thriller, while Liverpool beat Arsenal narrowly at home and — for the first time this season — looked solid in defence.

Liverpool’s injury issues at right-back have been resolved now, with both Conor Bradley and Jeremie Frimpong available for selection. With the addition of Alexander Isak, they’ve further strengthened their front line to cap off a sensational summer transfer window.

This could turn out to be a very difficult outing for the Clarets, who look demonstrably ill-equipped to deal with the top sides.

Score prediction: Burnley 03 Liverpool

Manchester City vs Manchester United

This Gameweek’s Super Sunday match-up is the Manchester Derby at the Etihad. While Man City lost away to Brighton last time out, Man United managed a late win against Burnley at home.

Pep Guardiola’s squad has changed considerably over the summer, with new additions in the midfield to complement their January signings, though they are currently suffering from a number of important injuries.

As for United, a late win in the previous Gameweek would have given them massive confidence. Considering they got favourable results against City last season as well, this could be a great opportunity for them to go to the Etihad and claim the bragging rights.

This game could be an entertaining draw, with both teams looking strong up front but shaky at the back. The midfield battle could decide the game, and we expect the spoils to be shared here.

Score prediction: Man City 22 Man United
