The Qatar Football Association (QFA), the governing body of football in Qatar, has announced a continuation of its collaboration with British multinational oil and gas company Shell.
Shell, a global British oil and gas corporation with present headquarters in London, England, was established in 1907. A vital part of Big Oil, Shell ranks as the world’s second-largest investor-owned oil and gas firm in terms of revenue.
According to the contract, Shell’s Qatar division will remain the primary QFA sponsor for a further four years.
The signing event, which took place on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, saw Hussain Al-Hajji from Shell Qatar and Mansour Al-Ansari from the QFA attend the ceremony.
Speaking about the Shell renewal, Mansour Al-Ansari of the QFA commented:
“We have had a partnership with Shell Qatar for nearly two decades. This new signing strengthens this fruitful relationship for another four prosperous years. Shell Qatar’s genuine contribution to promoting football and sports is highly appreciated by us. They are well-known for their involvement in initiatives that actively contribute to the Qatari community and help build a brighter future in line with Qatar’s National Vision 2030. The Qatar Football Association extends its gratitude to them for their continuous support in making the Amir Cup a success.“
Hussain Al-Hajji, General Manager, External Relations and Government Affairs, Shell Qatar, said:
“The Qatar Football Association is an important partner for us. We share similar values with the Qatar Football Association, and this is one of Shell’s strongest sports partnerships. By working together, we look forward to promoting sports and a healthy lifestyle among Qatari youth through engaging with the fans through a variety of activities in the coming years.“
