The producers of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse announced on Monday that young Indian batter Shubman Gill would provide the voice of Indian Spider-Man, Pavitr Prabhakar, who is set to make his cinematic debut with the animated film set to be released in theatres across India on June 2, 2023.
Set to be released nationwide by Sony Pictures Entertainment India, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will be released in the following languages: Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi, Punjabi, English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.
Spider-Man is “one of the most relatable superheroes”, according to Gill, who is currently playing for the Gujarat Titans in the TATA Indian Premier League 2023. He will be voicing Pavitr Prabhakar for the movie’s Hindi- and Punjabi-language releases.

Commenting on the association, Shubman Gill stated:
“Since the movie will be debuting the Indian Spider-Man for the first time on screen, getting to be the voice of our Indian Spider-Man, Pavitr Prabhakar, in the Hindi and Punjabi languages was such a remarkable experience for me. Already, I feel superhuman. I am eagerly anticipating the release of this movie.“
Shony Panjikaran, General Manager and Head of Sony Pictures Releasing International (SPRI) India, added:
“June 2 will indeed be a momentous occasion for all Spider-Man fans across the country, and we are sure that everyone will shower the same love on this film as they did on Spider-Man: No Way Home.
