Spanish football league LaLiga and American social media company Snapchat have entered into a partnership to provide fans with Spanish football content on the Snapchat app.
Through a special programme named LaLiga Show Time, the short-form video platform’s international audience will be able to see weekly football highlights, historical archives, behind-the-scenes material and top goals and saves of the year.

It will also be possible to access material shared by LaLiga’s “Snap Star” account on Snapchat’s “Stories” and “Spotlight” features.
The collaboration will also result in the production of Cameos, Bitmojis, filters, and stickers in addition to augmented reality (AR) lens experiences.
Commenting on the deal, Alfredo Bermejo, Digital Strategy Director of LaLiga, said:
“This agreement is a step forward for LaLiga in its strategy of digitalisation and reaching young audiences, as well as a reinforcement of our work on social media.
“The Snap ecosystem tools also allow us to offer quality LaLiga content to younger fans.”
Alejandro Arenas, international sports partnerships at Snapchat, added:
“This is Snap’s very first partnership with a major European league and the beginning of a new way for football fans to experience their sport, whether that’s watching match highlights, playing with and sharing immersive AR experiences, or kitting out their Bitmoji in their favorite teams kit.”
