Snoop Dogg joins FaZe Clan

The musician joins the esports organisation as a board member.

Iconic rapper and entrepreneur Snoop Dogg has been announced as a board member, content creator and member of the talent network of the North American esports organisation FaZe Clan. The rapper will officially join FaZe when they go public in the USA later this year.

Dogg, along with joining FaZe’s Board of Directors, will also work with the FaZe Clan community outreach programme that is focused on supporting the youth through various activities.

The partnership with FaZe was handled by Snoop’s son, Cordell Broadus, who stated that he was ‘inspired by the synergy Snoop Dogg and FaZe could create’. The rapper is known to stream a host of games on Twitch and has also appeared in various video games such as Def Jam: Fight For NY, True Crime: Streets of LA, and Call of Duty: Ghosts

Talking about the partnership, Snoop Dogg commented:

It only makes sense to partner with FaZe Clan as both a team member and on the Board of Directors. The youth identifies with their brand and that’s something my son Cordell knew, which is why he brought us together.

Kai Henry, FaZe Clan’s Chief Strategy Officer, added:

The organic relationship between FaZe and Snoop has been building for years now, so we are thrilled to officially welcome FaZe Snoop to the family. As the original internet kid and first-generation gamer, Snoop has always understood the cultural connection between music, lifestyle and gaming.

Today, Snoop is a prominent voice in the emerging Web3 community and we have exciting plans to create together in the metaverse, driving new engagement opportunities for both of our fanbases.

Cordell Broadus stated:

As I’ve been watching what FaZe Clan has been building in the gaming space, I knew there was a natural connection with what my dad has been doing.

When I look at the two brands, I was inspired by the synergy they could create so I brought them together in this partnership. I can’t wait for the world to see what we are about to do.

Earlier this year, FaZe Clan partnered with the NFL on a charity game, part of the proceeds from which were donated to Snoop Dogg’s Youth Football League. Snoop was also seen at the recent Super Bowl half-time show where he performed with a FaZe Clan chain.

Snoop Dogg joins a host of non-professional gamers of the FaZe family, including Kyler “FaZe K1” Murray, Lebron “FaZe Bronny” James Jr., Lil Yachty aka “FaZe Boat”, and Offset aka “FaZe Offset”.
