Somerset CCC join hands with Coreus Group

Somerset County Cricket Club have announced a multi-year partnership with Coreus Group, bringing it on board as their Official Academy & Pathway Partner.

The two-year partnership will see Coreus Group enjoy branding exposure on the front of Somerset’s U18 boys’ and girls’ teams’ playing shirts.

Caroline Herbert, Commercial Director, Somerset CCC, commented:

We are delighted to welcome Coreus Group to the Somerset County Cricket Club family as our Official Academy & Pathway Partner. Their commitment to investing in young people and creating opportunities for the next generation makes them a perfect fit for this partnership.

Our Academy and Pathway programme plays a vital role in developing the talented young cricketers who represent Somerset and England in the future, and it’s fantastic to have the support of an ambitious South West business that shares our values. We look forward to working closely with the team at Coreus Group and building a successful partnership together.

Matt Drakeley, Director of Talent & Women’s Performance, Somerset CCC, said:

Our Academy and Pathway system exists to identify, develop and inspire the next generation of Somerset cricketers, and partnerships like this are invaluable in helping us provide the very best environment for young players to flourish.

Coreus Group clearly share our belief in investing in people and creating opportunities for talented young individuals to fulfil their potential. Their support helps strengthen the Club that our Pathway sits within, and having their name on the Academy shirt places them alongside our young players as they take their first steps in the game. We’re delighted to have them with us as we continue to build for the future.

Andrew Clancy, CEO, Coreus Group, added:

I’m a firm believer that businesses have a corporate responsibility to engage with the business communities they work within. Our business has developed a reputation for nurturing and developing talent; values that have aligned to Somerset County Cricket Club for decades.

From a personal perspective I’ve been a fan of Somerset since childhood, and multiple members of our team are local cricketers and avid cricket supporters, so it was a natural fit to enhance our support.

We look forward to seeing talent progress through the Pathway into senior teams, and I look forward to a long-lasting relationship for both organisations and the future talent that will progress to play professional sport.
