Partnership will see the club support Cyberlynx’s educational and football ambitions.
Premier League side Southampton Football have signed a partnership with Malaysian institution Cyberlynx International College. The partnership will see Southampton supporting the college’s football and educational goals. This is also the club’s first-ever partnership with a Malaysian organisation.
The Kuala Lumpur-based not-for-profit private college was established in 2006, and its partnership with Southampton will allow the Cyberlynx staff, students and wider community to interact with the Southampton coach and player development programme. Southampton’s Academy staff will also visit Malaysia to deliver Soccer Clinics for young players and master classes for coaches.
Mark Abrahams, Director of Business & Community Development, Southampton FC, commented:
“We’re looking forward to working with Cyberlynx over the coming years and we’re delighted to be working with an organisation that recognises the power of sport and in particular football.
“There has been a natural synergy between both parties since we began discussions as we have a shared purpose and expertise in developing young people to fulfil their potential.”
Dato’ Nathan Mahalingam, Managing Director of Cyberlynx, added:
“We chose Southampton FC as they are one of the best football Academies in the UK with a focus on football training and education similar to what Cyberlynx is trying to achieve in Malaysia.
“Our coaches and students will benefit greatly from the years of knowledge and expertise that Southampton FC has amassed in producing top level football players for many of the top teams in the English Premier League. This partnership will bring football education in Malaysia to a new level and is also in line with our plans to develop pathways for our outstanding players to play overseas.”
