Utah Jazz Sponsors 2022-23

The Utah Jazz is an American professional basketball team that were founded in 1974 in New Orleans as an expansion team known as the New Orleans Jazz. The Jazz compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a Western Conference Northwest Division member.

The franchise moved to Salt Lake City in 1979 and got rebranded as the Utah Jazz. The Jazz first qualified for the Playoffs in 1984 and didn’t miss any of them until 2004.

The franchise became a powerhouse in the 1990s but lost two finals to Michael Jordan’s Chicago Bulls. The Jazz has since won two Conference titles and 11 Division titles including their latest Division title in the 2021-22 season. In this article, we look at their sponsors:

Global Partners

Official Jersey Patch Sponsor: Qualtrics

The partnership between the Jazz and Qualtrics began in 2017, when Qualtrics donated its sponsorship of the jersey patch to “5 For the Fight — a global campaign inviting everyone to donate US$5 for the fight against cancer. It was the first-ever cause-related sponsorship in the history of North American professional sports and is the only cause-related jersey patch in the NBA.

When Qualtrics and the Jazz announced a three-year extension of their partnership in 2020, they reaffirmed their commitment to cancer research by continuing to donate the jersey patch to “5 For the Fight” through 2023.

In January 2021, the Jazz and Qualtrics further renewed their partnership, with the latter continuing as the sponsor of the Utah Jazz jersey patch through the 2022-23 season as well as their Exclusive Fan Experience, Insights, and Analytics partner.

Official Arena Naming Partner: Delta Airlines

The Utah Jazz announced in January 2023 that international airline Delta would hold the official naming rights to their arena from July 2023 as part of the multi-year collaboration, replacing North American smart home firm Vivint.

When the arena was opened in 1991, Delta owned the naming rights as part of its inaugural sponsorship with the NBA franchise. In addition to its present position as the Utah Jazz’s Official Community Partner, Delta is also set to take on the role of Official Airline under the long-term arrangement.

In December 2021, the Jazz and LGCY Power announced an exclusive, multi-year partnership in the consumer category of solar power/energy, with the latter selected as the Official Solar Provider of the former.

LGCY Power, a company in residential solar energy services, is also one of the presenting sponsors of the NBA.

The exclusive partnership between the two parties includes naming rights for the showcase Legends Club presented by LGCY Power on level two of Vivint Arena, digital and traditional branding during Jazz games on-air and in the arena and other promotional and experiential partnership assets.

Official Payments Partner: American Express (Amex)

American Express and the Utah Jazz signed a multi-year agreement in October 2022, Amex becoming the NBA team’s exclusive payment partner.

The multi-year agreement also makes Amex the Official Payment Systems Provider for all events held at Vivint Arena.

Official Photo Book Partner: Chatbooks

In October 2022, the Utah Jazz and Chatbooks announced a multi-year partnership that made Chatbooks the team’s official photo book partner.

Through this partnership, Chatbooks highlights its dedication to strengthening the Utah community as it documents special game-night memories among friends and family and through a variety of other fan-based initiatives.

Official Cryptocurrency Partner: CoinZoom

In March 2022, the Jazz and CoinZoom, a US-based cryptocurrency exchange and fintech business, established a partnership that made CoinZoom the NBA team’s official cryptocurrency platform and NFT marketplace.

Through the CoinZoom app, Jazz fans can access the most recent Jazz NFT drops by scanning a QR code at their Vivint Arena seats thanks to the Utah Jazz and CoinZoom cooperation.

Official Credit Union Partner: America First

In October 2021, the Jazz and America First Credit Union announced an exclusive, multi-year partnership, with America First becoming the Official Credit Union Partner of the Utah Jazz.

America First Union Credit has been affiliated with the Utah Jazz since 1985 and now has an expanded relationship with the franchise, including digital and traditional branding at Vivint Arena, activations during Jazz games and affiliations with the NBA G League Salt Lake City Stars and other sporting events.

Official 5G Partner: Verizon

The American telecommunications industry giant has its 5G spread across 60 NBA arenas, having agreed on multi-year agreements with 15 NBA franchises, the Utah Jazz being one of them.

The company’s 5G Ultra Wideband network enables the franchises to provide their fans with more immersive experiences and allows their arenas to use next-gen solutions for operational purposes around public safety, access, concessions and crowd management.

Official Partners

Route

The Utah Jazz and the Utah Jazz Team Store announced in March 2021 a new multi-year partnership with Route, a Lehi-based e-commerce company.

As part of the partnership, the Utah Jazz Team Store has integrated Route into the online ordering process for fans purchasing jerseys, hats, shirts and other official team gear. In addition, fans can show they have downloaded the Route app to receive 10% off on purchases made in person at the Utah Jazz Team Store. The Jazz, thus, join more than 8,000 other merchants that use Route to improve the e-commerce experience for their customers.

Ken Garff

Ken Garff Automotive Group was announced as an Official Partner of the Utah Jazz in March 2022.

The multi-year collaboration is centred on collaborative community projects that have a beneficial impact, similar to Ken Garff’s “We’re Hear For You” service projects and the Jazz’s NBA Cares outreach activities.
