Sportradar joins as UEFA Champions League’s first betting partner

UEFA has signed a three-year deal with Sportradar.

UEFA has signed a historic deal with sports technology company Sportradar, which will see the latter join the former as its exclusive gambling partner.

The Switzerland-based firm joins on a three-year deal and will serve as UEFA’s exclusive authorised collector and distributor of data for betting purposes.

Sportradar will continue as UEFA’s official integrity partner, with the deal covering a total of 1550 matches over the course of three seasons, inclusive of all UEFA competitions, which include the Women’s Euro 2022, the Men’s Euro 2024 and the UEFA Nations League along with the club competitions — the Champions League, the Europa League and the Europa Conference League.

Sportradar and UEFA first partnered back in 2009, and now the sports tech company also provides investigation services and intelligence to UEFA’s anti-match fixing unit. Sportradar will continue to provide UEFA with its bet-monitoring services to safeguard football from match-fixing activities.

Carsten Koerl, Chief Executive, Sportradar, commented:

Sportradar has more than 20 years’ experience collecting and building valuable products from football match data, and now, as the world’s leading sports technology company, we’re the only organisation with the technological capabilities and unique resources to truly support the growth of one of the biggest federations in global sport.

Guy-Laurent Epstein, UEFA Marketing Director, added:

We are very happy to enter into this partnership with Sportradar, who are a global leader in delivering sports data. It follows a long-standing partnership with the company as our official integrity partner and it links to our recent announcement of Bwin as the first betting partner for one of our competitions.

The combination of the two partnerships allows Uefa to engage more openly with the sports betting sector, giving greater access to market intelligence and support from both a sports integrity and a commercial perspective.
