Former Indian cricket team captain and legendary batter Sunil Gavaskar will be launching his very own NFT collection. The announcement of the launch was made by his son and former India international Rohan Gavaskar.
The Gavaskar NFT collection will be available on alwaysforst.io and go live on November 21, 2022. The collection will be divided in three series, with the first series consisting of a limited edition of 10,000 Emblem Artworks. The second and third series will have designed artwork and collectibles that highlight the major moments of Gavaskar’s career, some of which are:

Speaking about the announcement of the NFT collection launch, Gavaskar stated:
“When there was freestyle wrestling in India and Dara Singh was an unbeatable champion, I would go out early in the morning with a blade where the wrestling posters were put to cut out the picture of Dara Singh or Randhawa for my scrapbook.
“If they want something which would feel a certain connection with me, I would be happy to be a part of it. This is how these NFTs have come about.
“I am looking forward to launching this first NFT series where I share my key highlights and tell the story of those moments. I am excited by connecting with a new generation of digital-native sports fans and invite you to join me on this journey.”
Members will also stand a chance to win rare signed memorabilia and other personalised cricketing merchandise signed by Gavaskar himself. A few lucky ones can also get an exclusive batting masterclass from Gavaskar.
