Following are the companies and organisations that serve as sponsors and brand partners to the German Bundesliga club VfL Wolfsburg and enjoy a strong branding presence across their physical and digital assets.
The history of the city of Wolfsburg is directly intertwined with that of Volkswagen. Founded in July 1938, Wolfsburg was a planned city intended to house Volkswagen workers who would go on to manufacture the Volkswagen Beetle.
Established as a sports club in September 1945, VfL Wolfsburg (VfL: Verein für Leibesübungen, loosely translated to “Association for Physical Education”) remain owned by the very company that birthed the city they are a part of in the first place. The football side of the club is run by VfL Wolfsburg-Fußball GmbH, a subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, and the home ground of the club is called the Volkswagen Arena since 2002.
Volkswagen also serves as the front-of-matchday-shirt sponsor to all of the club’s teams.
The Autostadt is a tourist attraction located right next to the Volkswagen factory in Wolfsburg. A multi-purpose facility, the Autostadt serves as a museum, a theme park, and a customer centre.
Autostadt’s proximity to Volkswagen (both literal and figurative) reflects in it being a Top Partner of VfL Wolfsburg. Having a close connection with the club, the Autostadt is involved in a variety of activities and initiatives with the club, ranging from exclusive offers for the club’s associates to organising community events.
The Zhaoyuan-headquartered tyre manufacturer first joined VfL Wolfsburg’s sponsorship portfolio on January 1, 2015, as an international partner; the deal was announced in December the year before. In 2018, Linglong became a global “Club of Champions” partner of the club.
In August 2019, Linglong and Wolfsburg announced an extension of their partnership that made the former a Top Partner and the official sleeve sponsor for the club’s matchday shirts during league and cup (DFB-Pokal) matches.
In September 2020, the two parties again renewed their partnership, extending the sleeve sponsorship deal until 2022.
The American sportswear giant signed a nine-year kit supply deal with the club in April 2016, replacing Italian brand Kappa and returning as the club’s kit sponsor for the first time since 2009. The deal kicked off with the start of the 2016-17 season.
The club had signed a five-year deal with Kappa in 2014, but it was cut short after just two years.
The Zaragoza-headquartered Spanish logistics operator serves as a Top Partner to the club since 2016. As part of the deal, Wolfsburg holds an annual kids’ football camp in the city of Zaragoza, where Grupo Sesé’s employees’ kids get to play alongside Wolfsburg’s youth academy’s players.
The Isreali social trading company was announced as a Premium Partner and the official trading partner of the club in September 2020.
The Gzira, Malta-headquartered sports betting platform was announced as the club’s sports betting partner in August 2019. This deal was later extended in June 2020 to run until 2023.
Part of Interwetten’s branding rights across Wolfsburg’s assets includes sponsorship of their Man of the Match award as well as that of match stats that are shared across the club’s social media platforms.
The Meschede-headquartered German brewery has been a partner of the club since 2013. The last extension of the partnership between the two parties was agreed upon in June 2019. Veltins currently serves as a Premium Partner of the club, with its deal with Wolfsburg currently set to run until the end of the 2021-22 season.
Apart from branding rights, Veltins holds exclusive pouring rights across the club’s Volkswagen Arena (men’s team’s home ground) and the AOK Stadion (home ground of the club’s women’s team, the U23s, and the U19s).
The Wolfsburg-headquartered bank was announced as a Premium Partner and the official payment partner of the club in July 2020, with the deal currently running until June 2023; there’s also an option to extend it by two further years.
Apart from branding rights, the deal is focused on Volksbank BraWo helping the club implement cutting-edge digital payment infrastructure at the Volkswagen Arena.
The Hallenberg-headquartered German alloy wheels manufacturer has been a partner of the club since February 2011.
The American beverages giant has been a long-time partner of the club. The deal entails branding rights as well as fan activations.
Headquartered in Gelsenkirchen, Stölting Service Group is a German personnel service provider whose offerings include cleaning, courier and rail safety services.
Headquartered in Braunschweig and a subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, Volkswagen Financial Services serves as a premium sponsor and payment partner to VfL Wolfsburg.
The Schechen-headquartered German lubricant and car care company has been an official partner of the club since August 2021. Across Wolfsburg’s assets, WECTOL’s logo features most prominently across the pitchside LED advertising at Volkswagen Arena and is also present on the stadium display when substitutions are announced.
Bären-Apotheke (Bear Pharmacy) is a German pharmacy based out of Wolfsburg.
Brüder Mannesmann Werkzeuge is a German tools manufacturer based out of Remscheid. It serves as an official supplier to the club since September 2020.
Cosy Wasch is a German car wash company headquartered in Berlin.
The Hamburg-headquartered German supermarket chain is a partner of the club since the 2018-19 season. Apart from branding rights, the two parties also collaborate over community initiatives that feature Wolfsburg’s players.
Grado Fenster & Türen (Grado Windows & Doors) is a German manufacturer of plastic- and aluminium-based windows and doors and is headquartered in Stendal.
LSW is a German energy company headquartered in Wolfsburg.
Maler is a German construction company based out of Wernigerode.
Rinti is a dog food brand of Verden-headquartered German pet food company Finnern GmbH & Co. KG, who signed a deal with VfL Wolfsburg in August 2021 to acquire pitchside LED branding rights at Volkswagen Arena for Rinti.
The Manisa-headquartered Turkish home and professional appliances manufacturer is a partner of the club since 2019, equipping the VIP areas at Volkswagen Arena with its displays.
ImmoProjekt is a German real estate developer based out of Barleben. The company is part of VfL Wolfsburg’s Partners’ pool, while also serving them as a Wölfe-Partner and a Premium Partner of their women’s team.
The Bad Harzburg-based German mineral water brand is the official mineral water partner of the club since the 2019-20 season.
Bruno Gelato is a German ice cream brand headquartered in Rhauderfehn.
COMbridge IT Consulting is a software consultancy firm based out of Wolfsburg.
The Hannover-based German coffee roastery is the official coffee partner of the club since October 2020 in a deal that currently runs until 2023.
As per the deal, Hannoverschen Kaffeemanufaktur supply its coffee and tea products to the kiosks and VIP areas at the Volkswagen Arena and the AOK Stadion.
Headquartered in Santa Clara, California, Hitachi Vantara is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Japanese multinational conglomerate Hitachi and a high-end digital solutions provider. The company was announced as an official supplier of the club in October 2020 in a deal that is set to run until 2025.
iTanix is a German IT services provider with offices in Berlin and Braunschweig. Its offerings include professional IT services, digitisation processes and online marketing.
iTanix’s partnership with the club focuses on web development, with the company offering them “concept and technical implementation in TYPO3”; ‘TYPO3’ is a PHP-written free and open-source web content management system.
The Binasco-headquartered Italian commercial espresso and cappuccino equipment manufacturer is the official coffee machine partner of the club since August 2017. La Cimbali’s equipment features across the VIP areas of both the Volkswagen Arena and the AOK Stadion.
The Aubervilliers-headquartered French engine lubricant brand serves as a Top Partner and Supplier of the club since July 2021. As per the deal, Motul serves as the matchday shirt’s sleeve sponsor to Wolfsburg’s women’s team in the Frauen-Bundesliga while also providing vehicle cleaning services in the parking lots of the Volkswagen Arena on selected matchdays, along with other co-branded community initiatives.
The Thaur-headquartered infrared cabin manufacturer is a partner of the club since November 2019.
The Braunschweig-headquartered German private regional radio network was announced as the official radio partner of the club in July 2020. The deal between the two parties currently runs until June 2023.
The Eschborn-headquartered German office furniture and interior management services provider serves as the official work partner to the club.
Steelcase is an American company headquartered in Grand Rapids, Michigan that produces furniture and offers workplace solutions to companies primarily in the education, health and retail sectors.
Audi BKK – Audi BKK is a German insurance company based out of Ingolstadt.
Duden – Maintained by Bibliographisches Institut, Duden is a German language organisation based out of Berlin.
memoworld.de – The Greußenheim-based German trading company, known for its sustainability initiatives, serves as the official environmental partner of the club since the 2018-19 season.
