Virat Kohli’s Business Ventures

Indian Cricket team captain Virat Kohli is one of the best batsmen in world cricket right now. The cricketer has signed an eight-year 110 crore deal with German sportswear giants Puma being the first Indian to do so. He has served as the brand ambassador of multiple brands and has featured in many exciting commercials in his career. But this is just one aspect of his association with brands. Over the years, Virat has also partnered with many brands from the point of view of investments. Let’s take a look at all of them.

Let us have a look at all the investments he has been associated with in his career till now:

Goa FC – Virat Kohli became the co-owner of the Indian Super League football club FC Goa in 2014 as he has a certain love for the game in his mind. He has invested in this club to promote the gradual but visual growth of football in the country. He currently owns 25% of stake in the team.

WROGN – The cricketer came up with his own youth fashion brand in November 2014, which sells clothes and accessories with a stylish range of ideas. The brand has also paired up with Myntra and Shoppers Stop for its distribution and for further spread of the brand. The Bengaluru based company has offline and online stores and is also planning to launch their own fitness devices.

Sport Convo – This was Kohli’s first international investment when he got associated with the London based social networking startup called Sport Convo. He is a stakeholder and a brand ambassador for this company, which also has an app. Real Madrid superstar Gareth Bale also is a brand ambassador for this company.

Chisel Gym and fitness Centre – In 2015, Virat again invested his money by starting his own chain of gym – Chisel. He invested 90 crores initially for this and the gyms were owned by Kohli, Chisel Fitness and CSE, the sister concern of Cornerstone Sport & Entertainment, which is the agency that manages Kohli.

UAE Royals and Bengaluru Yodhas – The cricketer in order to further spread his income then invested in other sporting teams like the UAE Royals (tennis) and the Bengaluru Yodhas (wrestling) in 2015.

Stepathlon Kids – Virat Kohli has always emphasised the importance of fitness in people’s lives and hence had started this campaign, which is said to be his most planned and diversified investment. Stepathlon seeks to tackle fitness issues affecting kids by taking them through to a 30-day pedometer-based virtual race to increase awareness of health issues.

Digit – Virat Kohli and his wife, Anushka Sharma recently invested in Canadian billionaire Prem Watsa backed insurance startup Digit. The couple now collectively own 0.25% share in the company.
