Each season, the Premier League brings new talent to the fore as clubs offer opportunities to their youngsters to showcase their potential on the world’s most competitive stage. This season has been no exception, with many rising stars stepping onto the pitch and making their mark.
These young players are not only testing their abilities against some of the best in the world, they’re also proving their worth as the future of English football.
In this article, we take a look at the ten youngest players that have featured in the Premier League during the 2024/25 season.
Note: The ages mentioned in the headings below have been taken from Transfermarkt at the time of writing.
Eric da Silva Moreira is a German fullback currently on the books of Nottingham Forest, having joined them from German side St. Pauli in June last year on a four-year deal.
Moreira has made five appearances for Forest so far this season. He made his debut in the Tricky Trees’ EFL Cup second-round loss to Newcastle United in August. Since then, he has made two substitute appearances in the Premier League—against West Ham United and Manchester City. He recently made his first start for the team in a win against Luton Town in the FA Cup.
With Forest pushing for European places and also alive in the FA Cup, the young defender could get more opportunities.
Josh Acheampong is an English central defender who plays for Chelsea. He had issues going on with his contract renewal, but they have been sorted out and the England U20 international is set to remain at Stamford Bridge until 2029.
The 6-foot-3-inch Englishman made his senior debut for the Blues in May last year, coming on as a substitute five minutes from time. He made his full debut against Astana in the UEFA Europa Conference League in December 2024, while his first Premier League start came against Crystal Palace early last month.
The young defender might get more game time as Chelsea progress in the Conference League and fight for a top-four finish in the Premier League.
Pedro Lima is a Brazilian right-back who plays for Wolves, who signed him from Brazilian club Sports Recife on a five-year deal last summer.
The young fullback made his PL debut for Wolves when he started against Nottingham Forest early last month. He also came on as a substitute in his side’s FA Cup third-round game against Bristol City a few days later.
Additionally, Lima has also made two appearances in the EFL Cup—against Burnley and Brighton & Hove Albion—this season, both being games Wolves won. He also provided an assist in the Burnley game.
Caleb Kporha is an English right-back who plays for Crystal Palace. The 18-year-old is a versatile operator who can also be deployed as a wingback. He signed his first professional contract with the Eagles in July 2023.
Kporha made his debut for Palace in November 2024 against Fulham, coming on as a substitute in a home game. He also came on as a late substitute against Arsenal a month later in a game Palace lost by a huge margin.
Samuel Amo-Ameyaw is an English winger who was secured by Southampton from Tottenham Hotspur in 2022. He signed his first professional contract with the Saints in July 2023.
The youngster made his Premier League debut in May 2023, appearing as a second-half substitute against Liverpool in a 4-4 draw. This season, he has made two appearances in the Premier league, one against Newcastle United and the other against Aston Villa. He has also played two EFL Cup games for Southampton and scored his first goal for the club against Cardiff City in August in a 3–5 away win.
At the start of this month, Ame-Ameyaw was sent on a loan to Ligue 1 side Strasbourg for the remainder of the season.
Myles Lewis-Skelly has risen through the ranks of the Arsenal academy and plays as a left-back or defensive midfielder for the Gunners. He signed his first professional contract with the club in October 2023.
Lewis-Skelly made his Premier League debut in September last year against Man City away in a 2-2 draw, coming on for Jurriën Timber in the second-half injury time. Since then, he has played nine more PL games for Arsenal and recently scored his debut goal against the Cityzens. He has also made five appearances in the EFL Cup and four appearances in the UEFA Champions League.
The young talent is having a breakthrough season at Arsenal and could go on to become a regular starter for them in the coming seasons.
Joshua King is an English midfielder who has been part of the Fulham academy since he was eight years old. King signed his first professional contract with the Cottagers in January last year.
King made his debut for Fulham in the EFL Cup second round against Birmingham City in August last year, coming on as a second-half substitute. He also came on in the FA Cup second round against Watford in a 4-1 win, having made his Premier League debut in December in a 3-1 win against Brighton. Since then, he has gotten a few more minutes in four more PL games off the bench.
Harrison Armstrong is the product of Everton’s youth academy, having joined the club as a five-year-old. Growing through the ranks, the midfielder/winger moved to the Toffees’ U23s setup in the 2023/24 season before signing his first professional contract with them in July 2024—a three-year deal.
Armstrong made his PL debut for Everton away against Tottenham Hotspur in August last year. He went on to make two more substitute appearances for Everton—against Wolves and Bournemouth—while also representing them in one FA Cup and two EFL Cup games.
For regular game time and development, Armstrong was sent on loan to Championship club Derby County earlier this month for the rest of the season.
Ethan Nwaneri is an English right-winger who holds the record for the youngest player to ever play in the Premier League, having made his league debut aged just 15 years and 181 days against Brentford on September 18, 2022.
Still only 17, Nwaneri got his opportunity to start for the Gunners’ first team this season due to a long-term injury to Bukayo Saka. He scored his first senior goal for them this season in the EFL Cup, netting a brace against Bolton Wanderers in a 5-1 win. So far this season, he has made 14 PL appearances and scored three goals. He has also played five games in the Champions League and scored a goal. Add to that the three goals he has delivered in four EFL Cup appearances, it’s safe to say the England U19 international is clearly having a breakthrough season.
It will be interesting to see how much game time Nwaneri can muster for himself once Saka returns to the fold.
Mikey Moore is an English winger who plays for Tottenham Hotspur. He has been with the North London club since he was nine years old. He signed his first professional contract with them in August last year.
Moore has won several honours with the Spurs U17 and U18 teams. He made his Premier League debut for them in May last year against Man City, aged only 16 years 277 days and becoming the youngest Spurs player to make his PL debut. This season, he made his UEFA Europa League debut against Qarabag.
Due to Spurs’ injury issues this season, Moore has received several opportunities to play for the first team. He has made seven PL appearances this season along with one EFL Cup, one FA Cup, and five Europa League appearances, having bagged a goal and assist each in Europe.
The England U19 international has thoroughly impressed Ange Postecoglou and fellow players, with James Maddison having been particularly effusive in his praise earlier in the season.
