In this article, we take a look at the lowest-paid footballers in the Premier League.
Note: In line with the figures from Capology.com, we use the the British pound sterling (£) as the currency, and only profiles that have been verified have been considered for this list.
12. Mark Gillespie | Newcastle United FC
Gross p/w: £10,000 | Gross p/y: £520,000
Mark Gillespie, a 31-year-old English goalkeeper, kicks off this list. A youth product at the club, he spent a good decade of his career plying his trades at lower-league clubs like Carlisle United FC and Walsall FC apart from a two-year stint at Scottish club Motherwell FC before returning to his boyhood club in 2020.
Currently, Gillespie is tied to a one-year deal with the Magpies, which runs out at the end of the 2023/24 season.
11. Jakub Moder | Brighton & Hove Albion FC
Gross p/w: £10,000 | Gross p/y: £520,000
Jakub Moder is a 24-year-old midfielder. The Seagulls signed the Poland international on a five-year deal from Polish side KKS Lech Pozna? in October 2020.
10. Max Lowe | Sheffield United FC
Gross p/w: £10,000 | Gross p/y: £520,000
Max Lowe is a 26-year-old English footballer who joined the Blades from Derby County FC in September 2020. A first-team player who’s already had two starts this season, Lowe is currently tied to a four-year deal with Sheffield United FC with a gross weekly wage of £10,000. This contract runs out at the end of the 2023/24 season.

9. Tommy Doyle | Wolverhampton Wanderers FC

Tommy Doyle is a 22-year-old academy product from Manchester City FC who’s currently on a season-long loan at Wolves. This being his fourth successive loan spell, Doyle will want to either push to break into the Man City first team or secure a permanent move away next season.
8. George Baldock | Sheffield United FC

The 31-year-old has been a regular starter for the Blades since joining the club in 2017. Currently, the right-back is on a £10,000/week contract that is set to expire by the end of this season.
7. Loris Karius | Newcastle United FC

It seems like the ghosts of the 2018 UEFA Champions League final will never leave Loris Karius. The 30-year-old is currently a backup at Newcastle United FC on a £10,000/week contract that runs until June 2024.
6. Kourtney Hause | Aston Villa FC
Gross p/w: £8,077 | Gross p/y: £420,000
The 28-year-old Englishman signed a six-year deal with Aston Villa FC in July 2019, which brings him £8,077 per week in wages.
Despite making 26 starts for the club, Hause has failed to cement a starting place over the years.
5. Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu | Luton Town FC

Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu is a 29-year-old Dominican Republic of Congo international. This season, he became the first player to climb from the non-league tiers of English football to the Premier League with the same club, having played for Luton Town FC since 2013.

Having started his career at Arsenal FC, whose youth academy he graduated from, James Shea spent most of his footballing career playing for lower-league clubs before joining Luton Town FC in 2017.
The 32-year-old is currently on a two-year £7,500/week contract, which is set to expire in June 2024.

Jordan Clark joined the Hatters from Accrington Stanley FC in August 2020 on a four-year deal. The 30-year-old winger has in place a £5,000/week contract that is set to expire by the end of this season.
2. Rhys Norrington-Davies | Sheffield United FC

Rhys Norrington-Davies is a 24-year-old Wales international who plays for Sheffield United FC. He is the second lowest-paid footballer in the league with a £4,000/week contract that he signed in December 2020.

Gross p/w: £3,462 | Gross p/y: £180,000
A Nottingham Forest FC academy product, Alex Mighten, who’s currently on loan to Belgian side KV Kortrijk, is the lowest-paid player in the Premier League. He is on a £3,462/week contract with Forest, having signed a five-year deal in July 2020.
