Athletes Endorsing Fantasy Sports Platforms

As fantasy sports platforms become more and more popular, an increased number of partnership opportunities have begun to emerge across them. These fantasy sports platforms have seen the benefits of using sportspeople to promote their apps and websites.

Let us look at the list of athletes endorsing various fantasy sports platforms in India :

Sunil Chettri – Sunil Chhetri, an Indian professional footballer, was named the brand ambassador of a fantasy football app called Twelfth Man in May 2020.

Sachin Tendulkar – Sachin Tendulkar, a former Indian cricketer, became the PayTM First Games brand ambassador in September 2020.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar – Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Indian cricket team pacer, was signed as the brand ambassador of Playerzpot in September 2020.

Smriti Mandhana – Indian cricket women cricketer Smriti Mandhana was signed as the brand ambassador of Playerzpot in September 2020.

Suryakumar Yadav – Indian cricketer Suryakumar Yadav was appointed as the brand ambassador of an Indian sports fantasy app, Freehit, in February 2021.

Sourav Ganguly – Sourav Ganguly, an Indian cricket administrator, commentator, and former national cricket team captain, became the brand ambassador of My11Cricket in May 2019. In October 2021, Mohammed Siraj joined the online fantasy cricket app as an ambassador.  Rashid Khan and Shane Watson have also endorsed the brand in the past.

VVS Laxman – VVS Laxman, a former Indian international cricketer, and a current cricket commentator and pundit, was roped in as the brand ambassador of My11Cricket in February 2021.

Harmanpreet Kaur – India women’s T20 team captain, Harmanpreet Kaur, became the WTF Sports brand ambassador, a fantasy sports gaming platform, in August 2020.

Suresh Raina – India middle-order batsman Suresh Raina became the WTF Sports brand ambassador and its strategic partner in August 2020. Suresh Raina was also appointed as the brand ambassador of fantasy sports and fan engagement company Fantain Sports in March 2019.

Yuvraj Singh – Fantasy sports app and website Howzat appointed the former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh as the app’s brand ambassador in February 2021.
Yuvraj Singh was also made the brand ambassador of fantasy sports, BalleBazi, in June 2019.

Virat Kohli – Virat Kohli, the Indian cricket team’s captain, became the brand ambassador of the Mobile Premier League (MPL) in March 2019.

MS Dhoni – Dream11 appointed MS Dhoni, a former Indian international cricketer, as its advertising face in 2018.

Hardik and Krunal Pandya – The Pandya brothers were roped in as the brand ambassadors of HalaPlay in 2019.

Prithvi Shaw – Fanmojo, a fantasy sports platform owned by mobile tech company U2opia Global made Prithvi Shaw, an Indian professional cricketer, its main face of advertising in March 2019.

Gautam Gambhir – CricPlay roped in Gautam Gambhir, a former Indian cricketer, as its brand ambassador in March 2019.

Murali Kartik – Funtasy 11 roped in former Indian cricketer Murali Kartik as its brand ambassador in April 2019.
