Partnership to conclude in 2025

Cricket Australia (CA) has announced that they will be ending their commercial agreement with the Commonwealth Bank at the completion of the current partnership timeline, in June 2025, which will see the 37-year old partnership come to an end. As one of CA’s oldest partners, Commonwealth Bank first teamed up with CA in 1987 and has worked closely with the Australian women’s team, providing support throughout the years.

In 2024 Commonwealth Bank and CA joined hands to contribute $9m to the Growing Cricket for Girls Fund which helps more than 35,000 young girl players and supports the growth of 1500 girls’ teams. Commonwealth Bank also currently has their logo present on the playing kit of the Australian women’s national team. Additionally they have also sponsored the men’s team.

Monique Macleod, Executive of Marketing and Corporate Affairs, Commonwealth Bank Group, commented,

“We have enjoyed being part of Australian cricket. We’re pleased to have helped make that a reality. Watching the women’s game go from strength to strength and seeing so many of our amazing women cricketers inspire young girls to pick up a bat or a ball is something the Bank’s incredibly proud of.”

Nick Hockley, CEO, Cricket Australia, said,

“When CommBank joined forces with Cricket Australia in 1987, it was a year for the history books. Lyn Larsen led the women’s team to victory against England in the Women’s Ashes, and Allan Border captained the men’s team in their first Cricket World Cup victory.Cricket has come a long way since then – and we’re incredibly grateful to CommBank for the role they’ve played in driving the game forward.”
