ESL announces plans for women’s CS:GO circuit in 2023

ESL FACEIT Group has announced its plans for the women’s CS:GO circuit for the 2023 season. The ESL Impact, which is the female circuit for CS:GO, will have a total of three LAN events across Katowice, Dallas and Hanover with a total prize money of US$400,000.

The 2023 season is set to start with ESL Impact IEM Katowice in February, which will be followed by ESL Impact League Season 3 between March and April. The ESL Impact League Season 3 Global Finals will be held in Dallas in June 2023, following which the mid-season break will take place. The year will be rounded off with ESL Impact League Season 4 in September and the ESL Impact League Season 4 Global Finals in Hanover in December 2023.

ESL has also announced that Cash Cups will be making a return in 2023 as well with a total prize pool of US$100,000.

Charlie Sirc, Product Manager, Game Ecosystems, CS:GO at ESL FACEIT Group, commented:

It’s amazing to see how having the right infrastructure in place has already helped countless women to focus on what they love and take their skills to the next level.

From individual women significantly improving their gameplay to some major esports organisations investing in an all-women’s roster – 2022 has already seen more success stories than we could have imagined. And we look forward to levelling up the circuit even further in 2023 and beyond.

Claudia Beaton, VP PMO, People & Culture at ESL FACEIT Group, said:

Not only does ESL Impact leave a big mark in the esports industry, it has also opened up many opportunities for women (and men) from all backgrounds to get actively involved behind the scenes, thereby making ESL FACEIT Group more diverse and inclusive.

We can’t wait to see what positive changes other and future #GGFORALL initiatives will bring about.

The ESL Impact League, which is the female CS:GO circuit, is in its second season, the finals of which are set to take place at the DreamHack Winter between November 25 and 27, 2022.

ESL Impact was launched in 2022 by ESL FACEIT Group under its #GGFORALL initiative, which is aimed at “tackling discrimination, foster diversity and inclusion, promote mental wellbeing, and progress environmental sustainability in esports”.
