Formula One to continue racing in Monaco till 2025

Formula One will race in Monaco at least until 2025 after a new three-year deal was signed with the Automobile Club of Monaco (ACM).

Monaco has been part of the Formula One calendar since its start in 1950 and is regarded as one of the sport’s most iconic and revered races. Filled with glitz and glamour, the Monaco race weekend is much more than just a race.

Monaco’s future faced uncertainty recently when Liberty Media, Formula One’s owner, questioned the revenue and other issues such as advertising and TV directions of the race. Seemingly, though, it now looks like all the doubts have been cleared with Monaco remaining on the calendar for the time being.

Stefano Domenicali, President and CEO of Formula One, commented:

I am pleased to confirm that we will be racing in Monaco until 2025 and excited to be back on the streets of this famous Principality for next year’s Championship on May 28.

I want to thank everyone involved in this renewal and especially H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco, Michel Boeri, President of the Automobile Club of Monaco and all his team. We look forward to being back next season to continue our partnership together.

Michel Boeri, President of the Automobile Club of Monaco, said:

In the interest of the Formula One World Championship, and after several months of negotiations, we are proud to announce that we have signed a three-year agreement with Formula One, and likely to be renewed.

The new 24-race calendar for the 2023 Formula One season will see the Monaco race being held on May 28 as the second race of the season’s first triple-header, with Imola and Barcelona being the other two.
