Gaël Monfils: Brand endorsements | Charity work

Gaël Monfils is a professional tennis player with an estimated net worth of US$10 million. Of French and Martinican descent, Monfils was a standout junior player who went pro in 2004 and achieved a career-high ranking of World No. 6 in 2016.

Monfils is a well-known yet underrated player who goes by the nickname “Sliderman” because of his remarkable aptitude for sliding strokes, especially on clay courts.

An eleven-time ATP Tour singles champion, Monfils was voted the ATP Newcomer of the Year in 2005. Some highlights of his career include three ATP Masters 1000 finals as well as semi-final appearances at two Grand Slams: the 2008 French Open and the 2016 US Open.

CURRENT DEALS

Artengo

In 2022, Monfils and Decathlon’s Artengo tennis brand formally entered into a partnership.

As part of the five-year agreement, Monfils is to use Artengo-branded racquets and wear the company’s clothing and footwear.

Prior to his deal with Artengo, Monfils had a contract with Asics for shoes and clothing since 2013, while he was sponsored by Nike early in his career and K-Swiss afterwards.

Before moving to Decathlon, Monfils used Wilson racquets.

ROKiT

A multi-year sponsorship arrangement with Monfils was reached in May 2019 by ROKiT, a multinational telecommunications firm that sells premium tech phones.

As per the deal, in addition to sporting the ROKiT logo on the court across all competitions, Monfils also appears in a variety of ROKiT marketing campaigns and events.

Dockers

In March 2023, Monfils became an ambassador for California-based clothing company Dockers.

As per the deal, off the court, Dockers and Monfils work together, specialising in unique, wearable fashion that complements the latter’s active lifestyle.

PAST DEALS

De Bethune

In 2014, Monfils agreed to a three-year contract with luxury swiss watchmaker De Bethune. In addition to participating in the testing of De Bethune watches by providing additional performance metrics, Monfils would wear the company’s iconic coloured timepieces on the court.

Daniel Hechter

In 2015, Daniel Hechter and Monfils agreed to a sponsorship agreement. The contract dictated that Monfils feature in a number of commercials for the menswear brand launched by Paris-based French fashion designer Daniel Hechter.

eToro

Fintech business eToro, which specialises in brokerage and financial services, named Monfils as a global ambassador in 2018.

Monfils was sponsored by eToro throughout the most important ATP Grand Slam competitions, including Roland-Garros, Wimbledon, and the US Open, as he sported the eToro logo on his shirt. He also appeared in an eToro TV commercial.
