Indian cricketer announces surprise partnership.
Indian esports organisation GodLike Esports has signed Gujarat Titans all-rounder Rahul Tewatia. Although the organisation hasn’t revealed exactly what Tewatia’s role will be, the partnership comes as a surprise all the same.
The move comes as a welcome partnership between a player of the country’s biggest sports and one of its upcoming ones. Earlier, Indian spinner Yuzvendra Chahal had also signed a partnership with Rooter Esports, for whom he occasionally streams games and is also a content creator.
GodLike Esports put out a small message on Instagram announcing the partnership, which read:
“Welcome who always believes in his abilities Rahul Tewatia to the godlike form.”
Founded in 2018 by former Indian professional PUBG Mobile player Chetan ‘Kronten’ Changude, GodLike is known for its Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) roster consisting of: Suraj ‘Neyoo’ Majumdar, Jonathan Amaral, Abhishek ‘ZGOD’ Choudhary and Vivek ‘ClutchGod’ Horo.
Tewatia, who shot to fame during his stint with the Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2020, was signed by the Gujarat Titans in the mega auction ahead of IPL 2022, which is scheduled to get underway from March 26. The league phase of the tournament will take place entirely in Maharashtra, across four venues in Mumbai and Pune.
