ICC Men’s T20 WC 2026 | Match 20: Canada vs UAE | Preview and Predictions

Canada will take on the UAE in Match 20 of the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi on February 13, 2026.

For the game, here we present our preview and predictions.

ICC Men’s T20 WC 2026 Group D | Match 20: Canada vs UAE | 15:00 IST, February 13, 2026

With both teams coming into this contest on the back of opening-day defeats, this is a must-win game for both. Canada were beaten by a professional South African side, while the UAE received a hammering at the hands of New Zealand despite putting up a decent score on the board.

After asking South Africa to bat first in Ahmedabad, Canada failed to make any early inroads, with both Aiden Markram and Quinton de Kock getting the Proteas off to a solid start before the rest of the batters joined in and pushed the score up to 213 for the loss of just four wickets. Ansh Patel was the pick of the Canadian bowlers, with impressive figures of 3/31 in his four overs.

In reply, the Canadian top and middle orders had no reply to the pace put on display and the relentless pressure created by the South African quicks, especially Lungi Ngidi, who picked up three wickets on the night. However, the experienced Navneet Dhaliwal (64 off 49) and Harsh Thaker (33 off 29) did produce a vital 53-ball, 69-run stand for the fifth wicket before the Proteas wrapped up the game and picked up a comfortable 57-run win.

On the other hand, the UAE chose to bat first in their campaign opener. Playing an afternoon game against the Kiwis at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, they put up a competitive 173 on the board thanks to brilliant half-centuries from skipper Muhammad Waseem (66 off 45) and Alishan Sharafu (55 off 47). That said, there was always a feeling they were at least 15–20 runs short.

However, in the end, it didn’t really matter, as the NZ openers made a mockery of the total and chased it down in just 15.2 overs with all ten wickets in hand. Haider Ali was the UAE’s most economical bowler, giving away just 27 runs in his four overs, while the rest of the Emirati attack haemorrhaged runs all over Chepauk.

In terms of weather forecast and pitch report, expect conditions to be clear throughout the game. As evident from the last couple of games here, despite shorter boundaries there should be something for both batters and bowlers throughout the 40 overs.

Looking ahead to this fixture, both teams come into this one with more questions than answers. While both teams were found wanting with the ball in their opening fixtures, the UAE’s batting line-up looks slightly better — at least on paper — compared to Canada’s batting arsenal.

Thus, we’re backing the Emirati outfit to win this match and register their first win at this World Cup.

Fantasy XI: Aryansh Sharma, Muhammad Waseem (c), Dilpreet Bajwa (vc), Alishan Sharafu, Navneet Dhaliwal, Mayank Kumar, Nicholas Kirton, Haider Ali, Harsh Thaker, Junaid Siddique, Dillon Heyliger, Rohid Khan

Venue: Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi
Winners Prediction: UAE
