ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 | Match 25: WI vs NEP | 11:00 IST, February 15, 2026

The West Indies have been flawless so far at this World Cup, with their latest outing resulting in a crucial win against England. As for Nepal, they flattered to deceive in their second game. Much was expected from them after that incredible fight against England, but they crumbled against Italy.

The Windies batted first against England and piled on a competitive 196/6 after a stutter in the middle. Sherfane Rutherford stepped in with a man-of-the-match performance with the bat, having also received able support from Rovman Powell and Jason Holder.

In the second innings, the West Indian spinners spun a web around the English batters, who failed to deal with their wily spin and variations. Though Phil Salt (30 off 14) gave England a bright start, none of the batters who came after him could follow suit and, in the end, England fell short by 30 runs, with Sam Curran (43* off 30) running out of partners at the other end. Gudakesh Motie (3/33) and Roston Chase (2/29) were the pick of the West Indies bowlers.

Nepal, meanwhile, had earned massive appreciation after their fighting loss against England, with the cricket world rising in unison to applaud their efforts. But the same team failed to deliver against fellow associates Italy, who are making their first appearance at a cricket World Cup.

Batting was a clear strength for Nepal against England, but their batting order completely collapsed against the disciplined Italian bowling unit. Batting first, Nepal were bowled out for a below-par 123.

In response, the Mosca brothers, who open for Italy, took their side home in 12.4 overs, sealing a ten-wicket victory to register Italy’s first cricket World Cup win. Nepal were completely outplayed in this game and are now unfortunately out of contention for the next stage. Now, they’ll look to at least register a win before heading home.

As for this match-up, the Windies are also an inconsistent side. They could beat a strong team on their day and then lose a game they aren’t meant to lose. However, looking at their batting line-up, which is filled with strong T20 hitters, this could be a difficult match for the Nepalese bowlers.

The Wankhede pitch has been a slow one, but it assists batters early on. The West Indies slow bowlers will relish the challenge on a pitch that could provide assistance to them. As for Nepal, their batting might was visible against England, hence they can’t be taken for granted, especially now that they have nothing to lose. Having said that, the West Indies are a far superior team with massive experience in this format.

For all their improvements in recent years, Nepal may lose this one as well.

Fantasy XI: Shai Hope (c & wk), Rohit Paudel, Shimron Hetmeyer, Dipendra Singh Airee, Roston Chase, Sherfane Rutherford, Rovman Powell, Jason Holder, Gudakesh Motie, Sandeep Lamichhane, Romario Shepherd

Venue: Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai
Winners Prediction: West Indies
