Here is the preview and prediction for match 43 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 between the Rajasthan Royals (RR) and the Delhi Capitals (DC).

Indian Premier League 2026 | Match 43: Rajasthan Royals vs Delhi Capitals | 19:30 IST, May 1st

After starting the season with four wins on the trot, Rajasthan Royals seems like they are stumbling yet again as they have won only two out of the next five games. For the majority of the season so far for Rajasthan Royals they depended on their top three to do the bulk of the scoring with the bat but in their last game, once Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi had been sent back and Dhruv Jurel failed to get going along with captain Riyan Parag once again throwing away his wicket, it was a blitzkrieg from Donovan Ferreira with support from Shubham Dubey that saw them home. Why it matters more is because it’s the first time the lower order has stepped up and gotten the team home and the Royals management will expect more of the same when needed.

Captain Riyan Parag’s form remains the only concern for the Royals batting unit now that the lower order has got some runs and Parag needs to take responsibility and step up before it gets too late. The bowling for Rajasthan Royals has been carried by their two quicks, Jofra Archer and Nandre Burger and while Burger has been expensive Archer has been leading the wickets tally and in Jaipur at the bigger grounds, the spinners of Ravi Bishnoi and Yash Raj Punja along with the veteran Ravindra Jadeja will be key.

Delhi Capitals come into this game after being blown away at home by Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood, where they were bundled out for a paltry 75. The batting unit barring KL Rahul, Nitish Rana and Tristan Stubbs has not fired even once with the likes of Sameer Rizvi unable to capitalise on his early form while Axar Patel’s own form with the bat is also a cause of concern. David Miller has been Delhi’s go-to man at the death but Delhi need stability at the top and while the young Sahil Parakh was greeted for in his IPL debut with a golden duck, Delhi do have other options like Prithvi Shaw and Abhishek Porel, who can partner Rahul at the top. With Delhi languishing in seventh place and at the risk of losing out on a Playoffs berth, Patel’s boys need to step up, especially with the bat.

Lungi Ngidi has been Delhi’s standout bowler for the season but Ngidi’s head injury in their game against Punjab Kings, saw him ruled out of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) game and while Ngidi’s participation in unknown at the time in the Royals game, Delhi will need the likes of Dushmantha Chameera, T. Natarajan to step up while the spin attack of Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel will be crucial for the Capitals in Jaipur.

The Jaipur ground this year has seen only one game, which means it’s fresh and might offer something for the quicks early on but generally it’s been a high-scoring ground. The Royals come in as the favourites but given their stronger and more experienced spin attack and batting depth, we are going with a surprise pick of Delhi Capitals as our winner for the upcoming game.
