Coca-Cola’s lemonade brand Limca has roped in Neeraj Chopra as a brand ambassador.
The announcement of Chopra’s role with the brand comes on the back of the company announcing that it will be introducing a new low-sugar no-fizz beverage. The drink will mainly be an after-activity drink rather than for sports athletes and will be joining the likes of the company’s other low-sugar beverages, such as Coke Zero.
Speaking about the deal, Sanket Ray, President, Limca, Indian and Southwest Asia, commented:
“Commuting and travel has resumed, inflation has stabilised, the government has introduced food plans; plus we have the ICC and World Cup coming, so we’re optimistic about the next two quarters. India is a structural story, economically it is growing and has a large number of teenagers.
“So our view remains positive on demand especially in the upcoming holiday quarter, and we have a lot of room to grow.”
With the Limca partnership, the Olympic gold medallist continues to strengthen his sponsorship portfolio. Chopra most recently partnered with Under Armour India’s distributor Underdog Athletics.
