McLaren Racing announce multi-year partnership with Intel

McLaren Racing have announced a multi-year partnership with American tech giant Intel, roping it in as the Official Compute Partner of the McLaren Mastercard Formula 1 Team and Arrow McLaren IndyCar Team, as well as an Official Partner of the McLaren F1 Sim Racing Team.

Intel will thus support the McLaren teams by helping them turn data into actionable insight “through a secure, scalable compute foundation.” This will include trackside edge computing for real-time analytics and race-day decision-making.

Intel will also have branding on the McLaren F1 cars starting with the 2026 Canadian Grand Prix. Its branding will also be present on the McLaren IndyCar team’s car at the Freedom 250 in Washington, DC, and at the Indy 500 race from next year onwards. As far as McLaren’s F1 Sim Racing team are concerned, Intel will have its logo present on their on-stage simulators for the final event of this year’s F1 Sim Racing World Championship, and on the team’s virtual livery from next year onwards.

Zak Brown, CEO, McLaren Racing, commented:

Performance in IndyCar and Formula 1 racing is driven by technology, and partnering with Intel strengthens our ability to innovate at scale. Intel has already been an important part of our technology ecosystem, and their leadership in computing will play a critical role in how we design, build, and race our cars. We’re excited to deepen this relationship even further.

Lip-Bu Tan, CEO, Intel, added:

Formula 1 racing and IndyCar are some of the ultimate proving grounds for high-performance computing. Intel is proud to be McLaren Racing’s compute partner, and to be part of a team that thrives on precision, speed, and innovation. Together, Intel and McLaren will push the boundaries of what’s possible, transforming data into competitive advantage at every turn.
