Mohamed Salah’s Sponsors and Brand Endorsements

Adidas


Adidas has been the official sports equipment supplier to Salah for a very long time. The Egyptian reportedly pockets close to £2.5 million every year from his deal with the Herzogenaurach-headquartered German sports equipment giant.

Apart from wearing Adidas’ boots, Salah also appears in the brand’s commercials and promotes its products on his social media channels.

ExxonMobil


Salah featured in an ad for the Egyptian division of Irving, Texas-headquartered oil and gas corporation ExxonMobil (ExxonMobil Egypt) in May 2020.

Pepsi


Salah has been with Pepsi since June 2016, when he initially signed on as the beverage giant’s brand ambassador in the Middle East and North Africa. The association has only gone from strength to strength over the years, much like Salah’s footballing career.

Most recently, in October 2021, Salah was spotted in the streets of Liverpool filming for his latest Pepsi advert.

Vodafone


Salah has been a brand ambassador for the UK-based telecom giant since March 2018, when the company onboarded him with an offer of 11 minutes (11 being Salah’s kit number) of free call time provided to every Vodafone subscriber in Egypt for each goal Salah scored, reportedly costing the company US$140m per goal.

Uber


The San Francisco-headquartered multinational transportation services provider signed on Salah to drive its domestic marketing campaigns in Egypt in February 2018.

Oppo


Salah became a brand ambassador for the Dongguan-headquartered Chinese tech company in the Middle East and Africa in May 2020, with the announcement mentioning a “collaboration campaign” to coincide with the launch of OPPO’s Reno3 Series.

OPPO has also gone on to release limited-edition Salah-themed smartphones.

DHL


Salah has been a brand ambassador for the Bonn-headquartered German courier giant in the Middle East and North Africa region since May 2018.

Mohamed Salah’s Business Investments

In February 2021, The Daily Star reported that Salah had launched two real estate companies — MOS Real Estate and Trinity Kensington — while having also invested £2m in a separate holding company and having £9m in assets via another firm called Salah UK Commercial.

Mohamed Salah’s Notable Charity Work

  • Mo Salah is no stranger to charity work. Most notably, he leverages his stardom and subsequent wealth to help the people of his hometown, Nagrig, via The Salah Foundation, an organisation devoted to his philanthropy.
  • In March 2018, Salah donated 12 million Egyptian Pounds to 57357 Children’s Cancer Hospital in Cairo, Egypt.
  • In April 2018, Salah provided financing for a girls’ school in Nagrig.
  • In May 2018, Salah donated a five-feddan (1 feddan = 1.03 acres) piece of land for the development of a sewage treatment plant in Nagrig so that its residents could get access to clean drinking water. This reportedly cost Salah 8 million Egyptian Pounds.
  • In December 2018, Salah donated 900 thousand Egyptian Pounds to the Bassioun General Hospital.
  • In August 2019, Salah donated 54 million Egyptian Pounds towards the restoration of the National Cancer Institute in Cairo, Egypt, after a terrorist attack left 20 killed, 47 injured, and the building damaged.
  • In April 2020, Salah donated thousands of tons of food to the people of Nagrig amidst the global COVID-19 outbreak.
  • In July 2020, Salah donated 250 million Egyptian Pounds for the establishment of an ambulance centre in Nagrig.
  • The Salah Foundation provides 60,000 Egyptian Pounds to the elderly and vulnerable women as a monthly allowance, as well as providing 400 Egyptian pounds to vulnerable Syrian refugees.
  • In January 2021, Salah donated oxygen and an ambulance to the residents of Nagrig as Egypt battled with a second wave of COVID.
  • In May 2021, Salah was awarded the 2021 Laureus Sporting Inspiration Award for his philanthropic work particularly for the people of Nagrig.
  • In February 2020, Salah became the first Ambassador for Instant Network Schools (INS) — a joint venture of the Vodafone Foundation and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) aimed at providing quality education to both refugee and host-country children. The partnership was announced just as INS were planning to enter Egypt, Salah’s home country. The Ambassadorship also entails Salah visiting some of the schools, raising awareness regarding the need for quality education.
