F1 renews Tencent deal

Tencent to continue broadcast in China

Formula One has announced a multi-year renewal of their partnership with Chinese multimedia firm Tencent. The renewal will see Tencent continue to broadcast Formula One action in mainland China. 

Tencent, who are the ‘exclusive digital media broadcasting platform’ in mainland China, will continue to showcase the action until the end of 2027  following the new deal. Tencent will use social media platforms such as Tencent Video, Tencent Sports, WeChat, Tencent News, qq.com, and QQ to provide fans with ‘comprehensive coverage of F1, including the main race, qualifying, practice sessions and Sprint sessions as well. Tencent will also show the highlights from the F1 Academy. 

Tencent’s XR studio will provide fans with unique viewing experiences, showcasing all the action from multiple angles including high-definition visuals, onboard cameras, and in-depth analysis from expert commentators. 

Michaella Snoeck, Head of Media Rights at Formula One, commented,
