Following are the organisations serving as sponsors and brand partners to Big Bash League (BBL) franchise Sydney Thunder and enjoying a strong branding presence across the physical and digital assets of their women’s and/or men’s teams, who are participating in the Weber Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) and the KFC Big Bash League, respectively, during the 2023/24 season of the Big Bash. 

Homestar Finance

The Sydney Thunder roped in online home lender Homestar Finance as their Principal Partner in September 2021.

The three-year partnership sees the Homestar logo feature on the back of the Thunder team shirts, hats and helmets. Homestar also supports the Thunder off the field through various community projects. 

HomeWorld

Australian display home village developer and manager HomeWorld has been a Thunder partner since 2015. In October 2020, the firm was announced as a Major Partner of the franchise following a multi-year partnership agreement.

The current deal between the two parties puts the HomeWorld logo on the front of the Thunder jersey and also on the trousers of both their men’s and women’s teams. HomeWorld also enjoys branding presence on various other team assets, while also supporting grassroots cricket across the Thunder Nation Cricket Community and Clubs. 

SIXT

Car rental company SIXT has been the Official Car Rental Partner of the Thunder since December 2021.

The partnership puts the SIXT logo on the top-right corner of the Thunder team jersey, with the company also working with the franchise on various local community activities. 

NSW Government

“What’s Your Plan B” and “Transport for NSW” currently serve as Community Partners to the Sydney Thunder. 

“Transport for NSW” is the New South Wales government’s leading transport and roads agency, working towards building transport infrastructure and managing transport services. 

“What’s Your Plan B”, on the other hand, is a campaign by the New South Wales government that is aimed at encouraging drivers to make the right choice in avoiding driving after alcohol consumption. 

Sydney Water

Australian public water company Sydney Water has been the Official Hydration Partner of the Thunder since September 2015, when both parties signed the original agreement. 

The partnership sees Sydney Water supply the franchise with Sydney’s tap water whilst working with them on community education campaigns to make the masses aware of the benefits of drinking tap water. 

GambleAware

In October 2020, the Sydney Thunder announced a multi-year deal with the New South Wales Office of Responsible Gambling. 

The partnership sees GambleAware work with the Thunder to promote awareness about the potential harm gambling can bring and safe gambling. The deal also makes sure the Thunder do not have any partnership with any sports betting or gambling brands. 

Charter Hall

Property investment management firm Charter Hall joined the Thunder’s sponsorship portfolio as an Official Partner in December 2021. The deal was a part of Charter Hall’s partnership with Cricket NSW and mainly focused on supporting the women’s teams in the region. 

The two parties decided to extend their partnership in April 2023.
