After two maternity leaves, adapting her game over and over again, and travelling around the world with her family, Tatjana Maria made quite the comeback in women’s tennis when she became the oldest Grand Slam semi-final debutant at Wimbledon 2022.
Maria made her professional debut in 2001 and made her Grand Slam debut in 2007. Her first daughter Charlotte was born in 2013, and in April 2021, her second daughter Cecilia was born. Maria reached a career-high singles ranking of 46th, winning two WTA titles, while in the women’s doubles circuit she has won four WTA titles over the course of her career.

Before last year’s Australian Open, Maria didn’t have any clothing sponsors. Nike then watched her in action at the 2022 Australia Open, and by the end of the tournament the German had a new apparel sponsor in the American sportswear and sports equipment giant.
Maria has had a sponsorship deal with Yonex as her racquet supplier since the beginning of her professional tennis career. She currently uses the VCORE 100 racquet during her tour games.
