Sam Curran | Punjab Kings | ?18.5 crore

The 2022 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Player of the Tournament became the most expensive buy in IPL history after being signed by the Punjab Kings by a whopping ?18.5 crore. The young British all-rounder will have the spotlight on him when IPL 2023 gets underway next year.

Cameron Green | Mumbai Indians | ?17.5 crore

Young Australian all-rounder Cameron Green was one to look out for going into the IPL 2023 auction. He didn’t disappoint. Green was bought by the Mumbai Indians for a massive ?17.5 crore, becoming one of the most expensive players in IPL history. With Kieron Pollard retiring ahead of the auction, Mumbai will be looking up to the Australian to fill in the big Trinidadian’s shoes.

Ben Stokes | Chennai Super Kings | ?16.25 crore

England senior national cricket team’s Test team captain and one of the most sought-after players in the world right now, Ben Stokes was swooped up by the Chennai Super Kings for a healthy ?16.25 crore.

A known match-winner, Stokes has proven to be a big-match player and has also shown his leadership skill of late with England’s Test team. With what could be MS Dhoni’s final IPL campaign, the CSK will also be looking at Stokes as someone to fill in the captaincy role once Dhoni retires.

Nicholas Pooran | Lucknow Super Giants | ?16 crore

One of the most destructive white-ball batters in the current international circuit, former West Indies captain Nicholas Pooran was signed by the Lucknow Super Giants for ?16 crore. Known to change games on his day, Pooran will be expected by the KL Rahul-led side to provide that X-factor in their batting line-up.

Harry Brook | SunRisers Hyderabad | ?13.25 crore

Young British batter Harry Brook stunned the cricketing world by going for a whopping ?13.25 crore in the IPL 2023 auction. Signed by the SunRisers Hyderabad, Brook will be expected to fill in the foreign batter’s role which has recently been left vacant by the departure of Kane Williamson.

Mayank Agarwal | SunRisers Hyderabad | ?8.25 crore

Former Punjab Kings batter Mayank Agarwal was signed by the SRH for ?8.25 crore. Not only a handy batter, Agarwal also gives Hyderabad a captaincy option; with neither Williamson nor David Warner not in the side any longer, Agarwal will be one of the favourites along with Bhuvneshwar Kumar to lead the team next season onwards.

Shivam Mavi | Gujarat Titans | ?6 crore

Former India U19 pacer Shivam Mavi was signed by defending IPL champions, the Gujarat Titans, for ?6 crore. A more-than-capable bowler, the former Kolkata Knight Riders player will look to make the most of the opportunities set to come his way while playing for Gujarat.

Jason Holder | Rajasthan Royals | ?5.75 crore

One of the most versatile white-ball cricketers, former West Indies captain Jason Holder was signed by the Rajasthan Royals for ?5.75 crore. Someone who can change the game with both bat and ball, Holder is a smart acquisition by the inaugural IPL champions and also gives the team a leadership option.

Mukesh Kumar | Delhi Capitals | ?5.50 crore

Uncapped Indian pacer Mukesh Kumar was signed by the Delhi Capitals for ?5.50 crore. Kumar, who plays for Bengal in the Ranji Trophy, will be making his IPL debut in the upcoming season.
