Top left footed forwards in the Premier League

The Premier League has been touted as the toughest league in the world at the moment and has been branded so over the years. Nonetheless, there are players who have come on board and conquered it, not only doing well for their teams but also winning accolades to boot.

Among the top left footed forwards whose names and contribution will remain etched in the Premier League history include Robin Van Persie, who featured for both Manchester United and Arsenal, his fellow Dutchman, Arjen Robben, a former Chelsea forward and the one-club man, Ryan Giggs who won all with Manchester United.

Here are the best ranking forwards whose stronger foot is the left:

Mohamed Salah

The Egyptian forward has been a big hit at Liverpool, after earlier failing to make a name at Chelsea. He hit a new milestone recently, when he joined the group of elite forwards to have scored 100 goals and his goal against Crystal Palace saw him surpass the 100 league goals mark. Among the top left footed players in the Premier League, Salah easily takes the top position, having aided his team win both the Premier League and Champions League titles. Most of his league goals have come at Liverpool; only two were scored at Chelsea on his first stint in the league, having joined from Basel.

This season, Salah has failed to score in just one game across all competitions and when his team faces off with Brentford this weekend, it should not be a surprise seeing him tipped as anytime goal scorer in the game on the Premier League Predictions. Liverpool are definitely backed to win the game, with 1.5 odds at 1XBet the best so far. The big game of the weekend will surely be Chelsea at home to Manchester City, and MarathonBet tips Chelsea to win at 2.79. League leaders Manchester United are set to host Aston Villa and the top odds for that are at 1.44 at 1XBet.

Romelu Lukaku

Belgian international Romelu Lukaku attracted big headlines when he declared readiness to switch to Chelsea just months after leading Inter Milan to the Serie A title. It is his second stint at Chelsea, having joined the team in 2011 but failed to live to expectations. After loan stints at West Brom and Everton, he was finally offloaded to Everton then left for Manchester United before leaving for Inter. He is back and has already breathed life to what seemed the biggest problem area for Chelsea last season – attack. The burly forward has scored three league goals already, taking his league tally to 116 goals, and ranks among the top left footed forwards.

Riyad Mahrez

Manchester City and Algeria forward Riyad Mahrez is another top left footed forward playing in the Premier League at the moment. Signed from Le Havre in 2013 by Leicester City while in the Championship, Mahrez has come out to be one of the top players in the world. He also led his nation to the 2019 African Cup of Nations title and is a multiple Premier League winner with both Leicester City and Manchester City. His trademark cut-ins are a nightmare for any defender and this was the main reason he was brought in by Leicester, then City. He currently has 67 league goals for Leicester and Manchester City, and going by his standards, being just 30, he may be the next player from Africa to hit 100 goals, just like Salah and Didier Drogba before.

Such players as Mahrez, are among the top reasons Manchester City keep attracting top sponsorships, and this remains a key ingredient in the club’s success.
