  • Lorenzo Bernardi

Fans of volleyball who are younger might remember him from his time as a coach. Coaches are great, but not everyone knows that he had even greater skills on the field. In his 12 years playing for Sisley Treviso, this exceptional player has become a legend. It was a great success for him to win around 16 titles.

Lorenzo Bernardi remains among the greatest volleyball players of all time. He was the talk of the town during the 80s and 90s due to his impressive performance on the court. He played as an outside hitter, setter, and defensive specialist throughout his playing career.

In addition to his five titles in the World League between 1990 and 2000, Lorenzo won two World Championships in 1990 and 1994 and nine Italian Championships during that period. Furthermore, the Italian has coached several teams in Italy, Poland, and Turkey. A Volleyball Hall of Fame induction took place in 2011. The top male player of the 20th century was also Bernardi, in addition to Kiraly.

He was also the MVP at the Olympic Games in 2004 and the MVP of the World Championship in 2006.

  • Misty May-Treanor

He is statistically the most decorated player ever. He captained the US National Team to the gold medal in 1984’s Summer Olympics In 1988’s Summer Olympics the team was awarded their second Olympic gold medal and Kiraly was awarded the third Olympic gold medal in Atlanta in 1996. 

Kiraly won at least one event during each out of 28 years that he played in a professional career that lasted for more than four decades.
