The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA), the official governing body of football in Europe, has signed a multi-year agreement with Electronic Arts, a US multinational video game developer and publisher.
As per this women’s football–focused licensing agreement, the UEFA Women’s Champions League (UWCL) and UEFA Women’s EURO will continue featuring in EA Sports FC, the football simulation video game series formerly known as EA Sports FIFA, developed and published by EA Sports.
The latest instalment in the EA Sports FC series, FC 26, launches 26 September 2025. EA Sports first teamed up with UEFA Women’s Football in 2022, which brought the UWCL to FIFA 23, the last instalment of the series bearing the world football–governing body’s name.
Guy-Laurent Epstein, Executive Director of Marketing, UEFA, said:
“Continuing our collaboration with EA is an exciting opportunity to keep driving the growth of women’s football after a very successful UEFA Women’s Champions League season and UEFA Women’s EURO 2025. We look forward to fans and gamers alike continuing to experience the thrill of these two flagship UEFA women’s competitions in one of the world’s most popular video games.”
James Taylor, Director of Football Partnerships at EA Sports, added:
“We’re proud to continue our partnership with UEFA and to showcase the UEFA Women’s Champions League in FC 26. The UEFA Women’s Champions League is the pinnacle of women’s club football, and bringing it to life in-game reflects our commitment to celebrating and elevating the women’s game for fans everywhere.”
