The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has announced a multi-year partnership with Meta, which comes on board as the promotion’s first-ever Official Fan Technology Partner.
As per the agreement, the UFC will use Meta’s services and products, including Meta AI, Meta Glasses, Meta Quest, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Threads, to work on unique fan engagement activities.
Meta will also take up the role of the Official AI Glasses Partner of the UFC and use its AI glasses to provide unique experiences at UFC events. Meta will also be integrated across various UFC assets, including the Pay-Per-Views and Fight Nights, and enjoy logo placement inside the Octagon along with several broadcast features and in-arena fan experiences.
Meta’s Threads app, meanwhile, will act as the UFC’s Official Social Media Partner and create content around UFC events.
Dana White, UFC President and CEO, said:
“I’ve had a lot of great partners over the years that have helped us grow this sport, but Mark and his team at Meta are going to do things that will blow away UFC fans. Meta has the greatest minds in tech and they are going to take fan engagement to the next level. We’ve already started to work on some innovations with Meta around a new fighter rankings system that I’ll be sharing soon. The next few years will be an absolute game changer for fans of this sport.“
Mark Zuckerberg, Meta Founder and CEO, added:
“I love this sport and I’m looking forward to working with the UFC to let fans experience it in new ways.“
