Visa partners with HDFC Bank for FIFA World Cup 2026

Visa, an official partner of the world football–governing body FIFA, has announced a partnership with HDFC Bank for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The partnership will see Visa and HDFC Bank launch a limited-edition “FIFA World Cup 2026™ Visa Pixel” credit card along with a nationwide Spend & Win campaign. The partnership was announced in Mumbai in the presence of English former footballer Michael Owen.

These FIFA-themed cards are available to the existing HDFC Bank Pixel Play customers in addition to new Pixel Play applicants. With this partnership, Visa and HDFC Bank aim to work together to boost fan engagement during the World Cup and bring fans closer to the game.

Ashish Parthasarthy, Group Head – Branch Banking, Payments, Treasury, Liability Products, Marketing, Virtual Channels and Infrastructure, commented:

As India’s leading credit card issuer, we are delighted to partner with Visa to bring together the thrill of the FIFA World Cup and the seamless convenience of digital payments to millions of customers. Through this collaboration, we are elevating the fan experience with exclusive privileges and our specially crafted limited-edition HDFC Bank Pixel Play Credit Card. We are committed to offering our cardholders unparalleled opportunities to engage with the tournament, celebrate their passion for football, and enjoy exceptional value throughout the FIFA World Cup 2026.”

Rishi Chhabra, Country Manager, Visa India, added:

With Visa’s enduring worldwide partnership with FIFA, we are proud to bring the excitement of the FIFA World Cup 2026™ to fans across India in a truly inclusive way. Our nationwide collaboration with HDFC Bank transforms everyday payments – across all card portfolios into access points for extraordinary global experiences. It’s about making the world’s biggest sporting moments more accessible, secure, and rewarding for Indian consumers.

Interestingly, at the time of writing, there is no official broadcaster in India for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
