WSL Football teams up with British Gas

Women’s Super League Football, the organising body of the top two tiers of women’s club football in England (Women’s Super League and Women’s Super League 2), has inked a multi-year partnership agreement with British Gas.

The Windsor-based energy company thus becomes the official energy partner of WSL Football, covering both its divisions. British Gas will work with WSL Football on nationwide and in-stadia community activities as well as offer its expertise “to create sustainable pitch protection options for the future of football.”

Zarah Al-Kudcy, Chief Revenue Officer for WSL Football, said:

Partnering with British Gas marks another exciting step forward for WSL Football. This collaboration is rooted in a shared ambition to elevate the women’s game, build communities and provide sustainable solutions within football, whilst also reimagining what the matchday experience can be. Together, we’re building a stronger, more connected future for women’s football.

Chris O’Shea, Group Chief Executive of British Gas owner, Centrica, added:

We are proud to sponsor the BWSL and BWSL2 during this exciting and pivotal time in women’s football. Through this partnership we will be energising women’s football fans, supporting communities and rewarding our customers with thousands of tickets and experiences. We also support WSL Football’s ambition to use the power of women’s football to create a more equitable society as we continue encouraging more women to consider careers in engineering. We’re recruiting a new apprentice every day until 2030 and we want at least 50% of them to be female.
