Trading card company will create NFTs for UEFA.

UEFA has extended its partnership with trading card and sticker company Topps, with the company remaining the football body’s exclusive and official collectibles partner for its club competitions such as the UEFA Champions League, the UEFA Women’s Champions League, the UEFA Europa League and the UEFA Europa Conference League, which is schedule to make its debut this year. Topps will also create NFTs (Non-fungible Tokens) for UEFA.

Topps has also confirmed that it will be working towards turning iconic on-the-field moments into digital collectibles, following the acquiring of the required third-party IP clearances.

Topps’ Chief Marketing Officer, Patrick Rausch, said:

It’s great to offer our community and football fans across Europe and the world not only the best players, but also the greatest moments in the upcoming seasons. As Uefa’s exclusive partner for collectibles, we are not only taking a huge step towards the future together, but we’re also taking collectibles to the next level.

UEFA becomes the latest football body to take the steps into the NFT world after LaLiga announced a similar deal with Sorare just a few days ago.
